The free demo version of Bookends will never timeout and is fully functional except for a 50 reference limit. If you open an unregistered copy of Bookends 13 with a library made with Bookends 12 or earlier, only 50 references can be displayed at once. This allows you test Bookends 13 with your existing libraries. To run Bookends 13 you need a Macintosh with macOS 10.9 (Mavericks) or later. Information on pricing and upgrading is provided here.

Bookends 12.8.4 (Intel Mac, macOS 10.7 or later). Download this version only if you have a Bookends 12 license and do not want to upgrade to 13. Bookends 12.8.4 will not be updated.

Bookends 12.0.7 (Intel Mac, macOS 10.6 or later). Download this version only if you must run Bookends on OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard). This version can open libraries created with version 12.1 or later. Bookends 12.0.7 will not be updated.

Bookends 11.3.7 (Intel Mac, macOS 10.5 or later). Download this version only if you must run Bookends on OS X 10.5 (Leopard). This version cannot open libraries created with version 12.0 or later, although you can exchange references by export/import. Bookends 11.3.7 will not be updated.

Bookends 11.1.8 (PPC or Intel Mac, macOS 10.4 or later). Download this version only if you must run Bookends on an old PowerPC (PPC) Mac. This version cannot open libraries created with version 11.2 or later, although you can exchange references by export/import. Bookends 11.1.8 will not be updated.
