OK thanks, I will. Enjoy your vacation (but, you probably shouldn't read this when you are on vacation you know...)!Jon wrote:OK, I'm on vacation in Europe at the moment and can't test this. Please contact me offlist when I return (Oct. 5) and I'll deal with it.

Re: Using backslashes in in-text citations
No I don't use word. It is a document exported from a text editor (Ulysses) and I am pretty sure they use Apple's own rtf engine. Actually, I just tried creating a new document in Apple's TextEdit and the same thing happens.

Using backslashes in in-text citations
I just noticed that when I use backslashes in the beginning of an in-text citation (to add some custom text), Bookends appears to insert a redundant opening parenthesis. If I write {\see also \Jones, 2010, #234}, the Bookends manual claims that this should be output after scanning as (see also Jones...

Re: Making Bookends attachments work with Dropbox
Probably wise... and as I recall the Dropbox developers seem to have plans for marking any folder in the file system for syncing anyway. So never mind

Re: Making Bookends attachments work with Dropbox
On a related note, it would also be nice to be able to move the custom formats and other stuff that now resides in Application Support to a different location (such as within Dropbox).

Attach and autocomplete
Hi, It seems that, for me, the "import attachment to a new reference and autocomplete" option when dragging a pdf to the bookends window was broken with 11.0.8. Now, the pdf is always attached to the reference that is selected in the database window. Has anyone else experienced this, or is...

Losing focus in live search field
When I type in the live search field the cursor loses focus each time the list is updated. Very annoying. It didn't use to be that way ...Is anyone else experiencing this?

Re: pdf attachment doesn't show up in preview pane
Thanks, that did the trick! I suspected something like that but I missed it in Acrobat's long list of preferences. Nasty behavior from Adobe I think. On a related note. Is there a way to more permanently switch off webkit preview (I know, kind of weird to ask that now when you have just helped me en...

pdf attachment doesn't show up in preview pane
I had a computer crash last week and am trying to get everything back working on a new machine. WHen I launch bookends it doesn't show anything in the preview pane. If I turn off "Use Webkit to display pdfs" the pdf shows up, so it might have something to do with webkit? It's a new install...

Re: Sorting differently
No, it's not possible to have different columns or sort rules for different groups. If you have these items as column headings (e.g. date added), though, just click on the header and the list will be sorted by that. Yes, I know that... I just felt that it would be nice to have them pre-sorted for m...

Sorting differently
A request:
Would it be possible to allow different sorting options for different groups?
I typically want to have my main library sorted by Author, but for some groups it would make more sense to have it sorted by year, date added, or something else.
Would this be possible?

Re: live search
I am bumping this topic again, as it turns out I still have problems with this. I realize I should note that it only becomes a problem when I have set Bookends to display a pdf preview below the reference list. So apparently, Bookends becomes "deaf" while it is busy drawing the preview. I ...
