I don't think either is the case. It isn't creating a new document (though I have just tried scanning with creation of a new document, with the same problem), and it isn't reflecting the normal style, which is Times New Roman, 11pt, double-spaced. Microsoft have just released a preview of Office 2016 for Mac with an updated version of Word. I know it has only been out for a few days, but wondering if it is possible to get Bookends working with it now, or will it need some work from the Bookends end? No hurry, just curious!

Thanks for getting back to me so promptly. It was a few days before I noticed the problem, and unscanning now just leaves a single citation where there were often 3 or 4. I will liaise with you off-list to sort it out.

Hi I am trying to insert some text within citations, which seems to be problematic when the text includes a semicolon. For example, when I insert '\fMRI; \' into a citation it is output simply as ';'. I assume this is because the semicolon has other functions. Is there any easy solution to this? Che...

I have got it fixed: I had missed one of the preference files (there are 4 of them?). Trashing the com.sonnysoftware.bookends.plist file did it.

Very minor problem here, but one that's been bugging me for a while. When I choose "check for updates" I get a "can't detect internet connection" error message, though I do of course have one and am able to do internet searches, etc from within Bookends. Any idea how to fix this?...

Thanks, relatively easy solution; only slight pause for thought when I saw that the 'book title' field didn't appear in the Global Change Case menu, and I had to map it to the 'vol(issue)' field (which is the corresponding field when the reference is for a journal article).
