Luckily, one user field was free, so I turned it into a “year” field. That did the trick.
Thank you.

Only year or full year? That is here the question…
For journal articles I want the first citation to have a full date, but subsequent citations year-only. Is this possible? Enabling or disabling the button “Use year-only for date” seems to apply to BOTH first citations and subsequent citations. Or in other words, if I disable the option (= “Use year...

Re: BE wants to created two entries from one citation in Mellel when scanning
I'm a college professor. For STEM subjects? Am I right? I'm trying to understand your workflow. I can't see any reason why an English teacher, for example, would want to use LaTeX to create academic manuscripts, syllabus and the like. For anything shorter than an article (~10,000 words), I write in...

Re: A new universal database (K10plus)
This is a necessary addendum for Dellu . @Dellu. You wrote: "I am […] puzzled why the server gives a different result from the webpage." Answer: Because the correct tags were missing in the Import Filter. Based on your screenshot, it so happened that I first searched for a "wrong"...

Re: A new universal database (K10plus)
I didn't know how to enter those characters from the keyboard macOS doesn't seem to come with a Geʽez script (Amharic) keyboard, so one has to use the Character Viewer and drag each letter into the application one is working in. I stumbled on a website which allows the user to use his or her normal...

Re: A new universal database (K10plus)
I think I should rename this filter to reflect its new capabilities. Should I call it … I'll have to think about that. I would then suggest something that indicates the universal character of this consortium, a speaking name. It doesn't have to be a translation of the real name(s), especially becau...

Re: A new universal database (K10plus)
CORRECTION
Now it's perfect, I think. The author, written in the Geʽez script (Amharic), requires 880a and the original title needs 880b.

Re: A new universal database (K10plus)
@Dellu. It wasn't MARC; a "tag" had to be added to the Import Filter. So how did I find the right tag? 1. Use Bookmark's direct online search. 2. Select the item you want 3. At the beginning of each field you see a tag number (for example 800). 4. This tag number must be followed be the ch...

in case you are somehow involved with the project No, I'm not involved in any way. I'm just a happy user. :–) the Server connection is showing only the Transliteration; not the original language As Jon said, use Bookends direct online search. I searched for the item you pointed to with the red arro...

Re: GBV (GVK) as a bibliographic online source
I never heard of GBV. Well, I posted about this online source here in 2017 and again in 2021. :–) Allow me to make one remark. It seems the GBV (GVK) doesn't always distinguish between authors, editors and translators. Sometimes they dump the author and the translator into the editor's field where ...

A new universal database (K10plus)
Since March 2019, the name K10plus stands for a large universal data pool. It consists of data from universities, public libraries, research institutions such as Max Planck Institutes, museums, archives, public institutions and what not. The number of the participating institutions is more than 2000...

GBV (GVK) as a bibliographic online source
I highly recommend GBV (GVK) as a bibliographic online source. This Library Network has been steadily growing, and the number of participating institutions has now reached 2010! I made a random comparison with the Library of Congress just now. I searched for the novelists Joseph Conrad, Halldór Laxn...

The Library Network of the German States (GBV (GVK) has a new server address
The Library Network of the German States, called GBV (GVK), is an excellent online source. Here universities and public libraries are united on one server. On August 22, 2023 they changed the server address. The import filter GBV (GVK).fltr now only works with the new address: z3950.k10plus.de 1.png...

Re: Generating an author index
You might write to Mellel and ask if something like that is possible. Regarding an index of authors in Mellel, allow me to reiterate what I said earlier: "As far as an index of authors is concerned, one can create one in Mellel, but that requires that we first change citation objects with the ...
