Re: iCloud Login and Failing to Close Properly
Bookends (on my Mac) still asks me to enter my computer password (for iCloud access, seemingly) every time I run it. I will try the instructions on the FAQ.

Re: PDF proxy icon not functioning as intended
Thanks for the reply. The function through the toolbar (Email) does work. Double clicking the proxy icon opens the PDF correctly in the default viewer. But, even after checking the privacy section and ensuring full disk and folder access is allowed, I still cannot drag and drop. Strange. Any other t...

PDF proxy icon not functioning as intended
Hello, I have a reference that has a PDF. Said PDF displays normally in Bookends and opens in external viewer normally, too. PDFs are stored in iCloud folder for iOS sync. But, if I drag the PDF proxy icon from Bookends to a new email, the file shows up with a size of 0 kb. If I instead open the PDF...

Sharing PDF to Bookends from Safari
(Reproducible on my iPhone and my iPad.) When I have a PDF in safari, and I use the share extension (arrow pointing up in safari toolbar) to “Copy to Bookends”, the first time I click Copy to Bookends it opens Bookends but the software doesn’t realize anything was passed to it. So, I go right back t...

Re: Shortcuts support
Agree adding shortcuts support would be huge. Many of my colleagues would probably adopt Bookends in this case.

Re: Share multiple papers and their attachments
Shall I just assume this is simply not possible with the software?

Share multiple papers and their attachments
Hello, In Bookends on the iPad, I am trying to send multiple papers’ citations, their Abstracts, and their attachments, as an email. I can select multiple papers no problem. I then tap on the share sheet and select Mail, but the attachments do not show up. The rest of the required information does s...

Re: Error when syncing via iCloud: “record to insert already exists”
Thank you for fixing this. I downloaded the latest Update and seems to be OK once the library has been deleted and then replace with the Cloud version.

Error when syncing via iCloud: “record to insert already exists”
Hello, after months of no-problem usage, I ran into an iCloud sync issue recently where I get the error message: “Error saving record to server, record to insert already exists.”
I am given the option of continuing or suspending.
Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks!
Phil

Re: Problems and suggestions for iOS
Serge - THANK YOU. It was not apparent to me at all that autofill from internet would use different sources. I thought it was limited to just the attachment. That makes things a lot better. Appreciate the reply.

Re: Problems and suggestions for iOS
I have the same problem as number 1 above. I often get “orphaned” PDFs in Bookends for iOS that I have added using a share extension from Safari. I then obtain the correct DOI but I cannot see how to “quick add” the metadata for an existing PDF based on DOI. I have tried “autofill from Internet”, bu...
