Re: Open an attachment in a specific app
I could not solve this via AppleScript, but I found a way around using BetterTouchTool. I set a keyboard shortcut for Open Attachment With > Highlights (in System Preferences > Keyboard > App Shortcuts; I used ⌃⌥⌘+H ) and in BetterTouchTool I created a Keyboard Shortcut ( ⌃⌥⌘+C ) that processes two ...

Re: Open an attachment in a specific app
Not sure that would do what I need. I'd like to be able to open attachments in Highlights (not in PDF Expert which is my default app to read/edit pdfs outside of Bookends). I can use the contextual menu, but I'm trying to speed up the process. Since I cannot set a shortcut to a contextual menu item,...

Question re: Edit References sidebar
If I remember correctly a few versions ago there was a way to fill the various fields (Edit Reference sidebar) in a pop-up window (double clicking the fields in question to be filled/edited). That was a very useful feature to me, specially when filling the authors', editors' and keywords' fields. I ...

Re: Colors for better navigation
I agree that the first request would be welcomed. @Jon... if my opinion can nudge you for an update with this feature, I'll join the request.

SQL/Regex Search for file extension in attachments
Hello, I'm trying to do a smart group that identifies all the refs with attachment files that are .epub. I tried attachments REGEX '.epub' but that does not work and I suck eggs in REGEX. Can someone help me? UPDATE: the REGEX does work, but beside all the epub files it also returns the refer...

Re: Bookends' import workflow seems to pale in comparison to Zotero
@ryanjamurphy This won't substitute the speedy workflow of Zotero (I've moved from it to Bookends several year ago and also miss its fast capture abilities), but maybe it can useful. I gave up on Bookends browser because it felt too slow for my needs. What I do now is: Step 1. Use safari to research...

Applescript formatted reference merged with hypertext link
Hi, Since I don't really do well on creating applescripts, I was wondering if some kind soul could help me with the following workflow... I'd like to select one reference in Bookends and have a copy of the formatted text merged with the hypertext link, this last in between angle brackets . The objec...

Re: Looking for suggestions on workflow (re: projects and their references)
Thanks for the feedback, Philologist. I was wondering if there was a better system than the one I already had set up. I think we are working similarly... but your suggestion of nested folders is a great improvement.

Looking for suggestions on workflow (re: projects and their references)
Hello, I'm trying to set up a new, more convenient, workflow re: my projects and references used on each project. Until now I had several static groups , each with several references. However, I cannot easily know which are the references I use the most. Plus, my leftmost pane is getting crowded wit...

Re: AppleScript to Export Notes in OPML
But you are selecting different things in Scrivener in your screenshots, select the containing folder then press ⌘1 to get into Scrivenings mode to see parent and children in one go: Actually what is happening is that DEVONthink 3 (which I was using in the comment above) imports the opml differentl...
