Replacing "&" with "and" in two-author publications
I noticed that MLA style recommends the word "and" rather than "&" in citing books with two authors. Is there a setting somewhere in Bookends I can use to adjust this behavior?

Making DOIs clickable
Following recommendations from the MLA, I started keeping a field in Bookends for DOIs where they were available and set up a custom format that would display the DOI rather than the URL in my works cited. I realized, however, that a drawback of this approach is that the DOIs that appear in my PDF a...

Alphabetical order for non-Western (Malay / Arabic) names
I wonder if anyone could guide me on the correct way for an Arabic or Malay name to appear in a list of works cited in which most of the other entries are Western names? The particular case I am looking at is the Malay writer Abdullah bin Abdul Kadir (also known as Abdullah Munshi). I understand tha...

Troubleshooting: Exclude authors and title modifier not respected by Mellel
I noticed that the & modifier to exclude the author and a title in a citation no longer seems to affect how my citations appear in Mellel. I wonder if anyone else has noticed this and might have any tips on how to resolve the issue?

Re: Finalizing a document in Bookends / Mellel
Thanks for the word of warning. I was only thinking about this as a final step (having set aside a carefully backed up copy of the penultimate version).

Re: Finalizing a document in Bookends / Mellel
Thanks for the reply, Jon! Yes, that's exactly what I had in mind. I'll take this up on the Mellel side of things.

Finalizing a document in Bookends / Mellel
I wonder if there is a way to convert all citations created with Bookends in a Mellel document into their final form so that they appear as regular text in the document? I have a couple of minor details to deal with where it would make more sense to deal with the final citation as text than to work ...

Re: Keeping a URL together on one line
Yes, I checked the URLs just to make sure. They're just getting broken automatically when they fall between the end of one line and the beginning of the next.

Keeping a URL together on one line
I have a couple of longer URLs in my bibliography that get split at the end of the line. Unfortunately, this means that the URL no longer functions properly as a hyperlink. I wonder if there is any way to specify that the URL field should not be broken up? Thanks.

Syncing PDFs between the MacOS and iOS versions of Bookends
Apologies if this question is answered somewhere fairly obvious in the documentation - I haven't been able to find the answer! I have Bookends for MacOS set up to save PDF attachments in a Dropbox folder. I'm syncing Bookends for MacOS with Bookends for iOS using iCloud, which is working great, exce...
