Re: Duplicate entries on import
I’ve had this with upgrading my wife from papers to bookends (zotero was trialled briefly but is like using PSPP instead of Stata - a nice idea but useless for us). I think it’s because I’ve caused a duplicate import in reality - imported from papers and then because I’m nervous about missing papers...

Browzine and pdf naming
This is a resurrection of the brownie thread. Recent updates have improved its behaviour, but the major problem I get now is: 1. PDF in brownie -> iPad Bookends import - all good with doi and bookends magic 2. Look at sync'd system on desktop - pdf has always been lost (and not renamed as normal) - ...

Re: Sorting references list
The consequence is that the window will display the references in the order they are in the hits list (so if you do a Hits -> Sort that order will be reflected in the list view). Try it and see. If you click on a column header the list will resort to the contents of that column. Jon Sonny Software ...

Re: What is "normal" iCloud syncing behavior?
As an update, Cujo the firewall device appears to now block the iCloud syncing for Bookends.
I have flagged this with Cujo thanks to Serge's excellent support for Bookends.
Evidently whatever has happened in iCloud hasn't yet been caught up with at cujo.

Re: What is "normal" iCloud syncing behavior?
argh...
now it won't sync because of an SSL error preventing connection to the server...
happening on two installs, one wired and one wireless. internet connection normal.
another icloud issue?

Re: Tell me about your paper-writing bookends workflow
I'm interested in how DTP helps with your PDF repository - Bookends does a swell job of that...

Re: Getting my head around iCloud
Thank you!
A few goes at sorting the syncing to get the folder to appear and it's perfect.

Re: Getting my head around iCloud
Sorry for being dumb.
I select it in the preferences to point to, Bookends creates the folder and then once the folder is created - I just copy all the (8000+) attachments across?

Re: Getting my head around iCloud
brill thank you. however, just wanted to make sure I don't get it wrong. Do I need to create a folder with a specific name, or can I just point to any in the iCloud drive? I have provisionally created one in iCloud drive of bookends/library the bookends for iOS creates a path via mobile documents - ...

Re: Getting my head around iCloud
I'm just coming across to the idea of using iCloud. I have transitioned from Papers to Bookends. I had my Papers3 database on dropbox. All my attachments stay in that folder for Bookends (which works well). When I set up Bookends I used onedrive for the library folder. I have just set up iCloud sync...
