Re: Feature request: auto recognising arxiv pdfs
Hi Jon, the arxiv import is really great and so much better than manual matching. Is it possible to change a detail of the import? Bookends seems to take the Journal-ref field as the authoritative reference data. Having this data is great but the arxiv version and the final published version of a ma...

Re: iCloud sync and attachment problems
Also, as an added bonus the files in Bookends are annotatable in Apple's Files app on the iPad. The annotations are semi-editable back in bookends iOS and mac. It's a bit hit an miss, e.g. pencil marks can't be edited or deleted, speech-bubble shape get's transformed to rectangle, plain notes and hi...

Re: iCloud sync and attachment problems
Thanks for the link to the app, that worked! It was really weird, first of all I had "Optimise Mac Storage" on in iCloud which meant a whole lot of file's were not getting downloaded automatically. With it off I still couldn't see the folder. Tried dragging files into it and creating files...

iCloud sync and attachment problems
Hi, I'm struggling with iCloud sync, and attachments in general. As soon as I drag a pdf into Bookends I see it appear (with pdf preview) in my library as expected, but then the pdf becomes detached. I'm using iCloud and renaming the attachments. Finding the pdfs on iCloud is a real pain, the folder...

Replace spaces with underscores not sticking
Hi,
the option to 'replace spaces with underscores' in the preferences is not sticking for me. That is, I can tick it, close and reopen the preference and it will be unticked. I'm using a custom rename format: 'd a t @', is that not compatible?

Re: Feature request: auto recognising arxiv pdfs
Hi Jon, thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I was thinking in the other direction, given the pdf automatically lookup the metadata (after landing in the watch folder for instance). Sample pdfs are readily available from https://scirate.com or https://arxiv.org/list/quant-ph/new . They will typically ha...

Feature request: clipping portion of page
Hi, a feature I would love to see on bookends iOS would be the ability to copy an area of a pdf as an image to the clipboard for using in other apps. If a link back to bookends could be included that would be even better. This would mean you could pair up bookends with your favourite notebook app an...

Feature request: auto recognising arxiv pdfs
Hi, most of the current research papers I read are on the preprint server arXiv.org (or derivatives like scirate.com) and this must be true of many people as it's the default repository for new papers in many fields. Bookends does a great job identifying pdf's with a DOI number embedded but can this...
