Re: Bookends and Ventura 13.2 (a) incompatibility
Thanks-was just about to email you when I checked this forum. The "silent update" works.

Re: Need better way to copy text from PDFs
I have the update. But it's odd because once you hit cmd-C and that annotation popover disappears, the selected text goes away. Sure, it's copied, but that's odd behavior for a Mac app. I was just looking for reliability in copying text from PDFs (sometimes it didn't work and there was no rhyme or r...

Need better way to copy text from PDFs
I'm on 14.0.4. While it's definitely better in many ways, the new way to copy text from PDFs (in which selecting text brings up a window with several options, including copying, highlighting, different colors, etc) is maddening since hitting cmd-C doesn't really work. It was unreliable in the past, ...

Re: Consistently get crash report when quitting Bookends
I just returned here to mention that it had been resolved with the latest seed. So consider it confirmed.

Consistently get crash report when quitting Bookends
I'm running the latest (14.0.1) in macOS Monterrey and while Bookends runs as per normal, I get a crash report every time I quit: ------------------------------------- Translated Report (Full Report Below) ------------------------------------- Process: Bookends [26571] Path: /Applications/Bookends.a...

Re: problem with bibliography when first author and year is the same
So I changed it to use Unique ID and that seems to be the way to go. Thanks. I figured there was a preference for that I was missing.

Re: problem with bibliography when first author and year is the same
Thanks. It's odd because here is how I have it set in preferences:

problem with bibliography when first author and year is the same
I've had to resolve conflicts not uncommonly when creating a bibliography from bookends citations. But it's even worse for the literature review I'm now putting together because there are two papers this month by the same author, and in my Word document I will have two different papers cited, but th...

Re: Utility question
the Bookends folder is not visible within iCloud drive on my mac after re-adding iCloud drive via system preferences (and I did attach PDFs to selected references to try to make it visible). That might make this not feasible with using Bookmarks for iOS; sorry.

Re: Utility question
I'm testing now with a small non-critical library I moved to a non-cloud folder. But getting Bookends to display in iCloud is what I'm working on now (unlinked my mac to iCloud drive then relinked so it's setting up now in the Finder). Let's hope. Thanks.

Re: Utility question
Thank you. I just use PubMed so no proxy is involved.
So if I understand it correctly, I would need to have my library file in a folder that is not linked to Dropbox, move my Attachments folder to iCloud and change the preferences. Would everything then be correctly linked? Thanks.

Re: Utility question
How are you getting access to the attachments? If through a proxy protocol, you may need to assure that you can use that protocol when you are overseas. As to the other questions, have you tried using Bookends iOS to see whether you can or cannot? -- JJW Good question about access overseas, but I s...

Utility question
I use Bookends on my Mac to generate PubMed search results once a month, and then output those to a text file (RTF, which I then convert to .docx) for dissemination. I am planning to be overseas late next month for a prolonged period and do not wish to take my MBP if at all possible, but will still ...

latest version gives runtime errors on importing references
This keeps happening: Untitled.jpg To reproduce: Bookends 13.4.8 Drag a new reference PDF into the All window for which there is no existing reference data in the library Click Continue in the error message Click Continue yet again (the error message reappears) Then you get the familiar Attachment d...
