Sorry, I went through all the help suggestions for search terms 'format' and for 'pdf' but could not see any link to help page for setting up a custom filename format. Please could you send a link to that help?

How do I create a new format in the format manager, and give it my choice of name?

I don't see any obvious 'create' option apart from the 'Add type' that I mentioned.

Thanks. Do I use
Formats Manager / Bibiliography Options / Type / Add Type
as the starting point to create a format? Is there a way to give the format my own choice of name rather than an existing name like 'Unused'?

Hi Under Bookends Preferences / Attachments / 'Rename using', there is a list of filename formats. Are any of those filename formats of the form <Year><Author>', or anything that has <Year> at the start of the filename?
