Re: Obsidian Export Format - A Starting Point
Very interesting. I will give it a try.

Request: Remove from groups A, B, C... in contextual menu
When multiple references are selected, it is possible to open the contextual menu and choose `Add to group`. It would also be an excellent addition to have the option of `Remove from group` displaying all the groups in which the reference is and being able to remove it from these groups by merely de...

Re: breaking up keyword lists
The short answer is: it is generalizable.
Slightly longer answer: it is, in fact, the correct markup. Apparently, semicolons mean nothing to BibTeX/Biber, so all the keywords are treated as a single string (rendering them unusable, so to speak).

Re: breaking up keyword lists
On the same topic: is there a way to export keywords as a comma separated string in BibTeX? Bookends uses a ; which Biber does not recognize and which render keywords unusable for filtering bibliography.

Re: Best workflow for "merging" two references
Ian, why not use a simple Ruby or AppleScript? Select both, check which one has the “attach…” in the title, get filepath, attach to other ref, delete first ref. Assign to a simple keystroke using Alfred and done

Re: Is there any interest in syncing Bookends for iOS with Zotero?
I would consider this feature very interesting. It would be a great way to share a bibliography with others and work collaboratively (Especially, if the sync goes both ways!) through Zotero's online bibliographies. It would be the best of both worlds (BE/Zot).

Re: PDF annotation changes -- comments
All that is understood. It doesn't change that it would be beneficial to expose this information to Applescript. The software could provide read-only access to a record for each of the reference's relations, containing the ID of the linked reference and the link type. An example: set theLinks to lin...

Re: PDF annotation changes -- comments
Thanks for the suggestion, @Dellu. I am adopting a similar solution, but it would be preferable if we could take advantage of the built-in BE feature for this very purpose.

Re: PDF annotation changes -- comments
BibLaTeX does make sense of this information and stores it in the crossref field. Putting the export issue aside, could this at least be exposed to scripting? No need to allow modification (although this would be a bonus), just a read-only list of related references and the link relation type would ...

Re: PDF annotation changes -- comments
The internal reference links are not exportable. I am aware. Please change this and allow this to be exported somehow. Otherwise, this information will be perpetually locked in a specific Bookends file (as I said, we can't even transfer it to other Bookends files). 1. Not clickable in the notecard ...

Re: PDF annotation changes -- comments
I see many virtues in treating notes as individual entries, but if that is not the philosophy of Bookends, I can understand that. The built-in references links in the inspector are an elegant feature, but it would be much more useful and trustworthy if we could access them via Applescript or some ot...

Re: PDF annotation changes -- comments
Instead of doing that, I suggest that you look at the latest Zotero release. It deals with notes and PDF annotations and allows nearly everything to be linked.
