Re: How to create a conditional citation with relevant years?
I see why tags won't work. It seems there are many ways to address the problem in addition to user fields. Thanks.

Or even static groups I truly meant tags, not color labels or ratings. I see a disadvantage in using color labels as this ti...

Just curious. Why not use tags? level-standard, level-obso...

Re: How to create a conditional citation with relevant years?
> What do other users think? Would more user-defined fields be useful? Please help me appreciate what the current status is. Bookends lists 20 "user" fields. The ones below should however likely not be considered freely available: user16 - PMCID user17 - DOI user18 - PMID The ones below ar...

Re: Generating Bibliography for LyX from Bookends
My reading on Lyx suggests that you have to determine which bibliography package you will use. Two common ones are natbib or biblatex. Your processing options follow accordingly. From my experience with LaTeX (not Lyx) using natbib. * Create citation keys for all references in your library. Use the ...

Re: Case protection in BibTeX export format
I'll continue with the protection list approach while holding out hope that someday I might also have the option to put {Brackets} manually around a term or phrase in a title when I want to protect the case of that term or phrase.

Re: Case protection in BibTeX export format
Just to be clear ... I do not have K and Cl on the protection list. I just bracketed their expression {(K+, Cl-)} in the title in hopes that this would protect their case. I also tested manually putting (K+, {Cl}-) in the title to no avail ... it still gives (k+, cl-). I've ended up putting K and Cl...

Re: Case protection in BibTeX export format
I apologize to bump this topic. My question follows on the thread. I have a title that includes the chemical ions K+ and Cl-. I want all title cases to export in sentence case. I want ion names to be capitalized. I am using BibTeX.fmt with this ... title = {$t}, $ The title in the library is given a...

Question on search criteria
What is the search criteria to find only those references that have notecards? I tried EMPTY and NULL in the text fields.

Feature Request: padding between annotation toolbar and document
I like having the annotation toolbar on the left side of my iPad. I can annotate with my right hand and pencil, and I can change tools using my left hand. When the annotation toolbar is on the left side, it extends over the margin and text of the page that is being viewed. Please consider allowing a...

Re: Bookends 15.0.4 will not open libraries in file-sync service folders
A Bookends Library is a specific file. A library, in an overall sense, is the Bookends Library and the attachment files that go with it. Perhaps this will help clear some confusion.

Re: Bookends 15.0.4 will not open libraries in file-sync service folders
As an outside observer on this, I have a few questions ... * When you say that you store legacy databases, I envision archives not backups. The former is a closed database, ostensibly for read-only access, while the latter is an active record of the most recent database with read and write access. H...

Re: Libraries each having its own folder
I make extensive use of the ability to keep multiple libraries, each with their own attachments folder, across over a half dozen different sub-topics within my research interests. I appreciate this feature greatly as an underrated option that puts Bookends in a class all its own compared to any othe...
