Re: WiFi Sync isn't broken, but I am having "issues"
Jon: Work can be problematic in what I'm allowed to do, so I always have synced at home. It's simpler and easier. Same network (only one I have); both connected and can reach the internet; both can connect one to the other when I create an ad-hoc network (Mac--> old iPad and also Mac-->new iPad). Th...

Re: WiFi Sync isn't broken, but I am having "issues"
Jon: Yes, that is exactly what is happening. The older iPad works, as in it pops up in "Devices" and I can then connect the older iPad to the Mac and initiate the sync. The newer one does not; I never see the "Devices" box pop up. I strongly suspect it is something specific to th...

WiFi Sync isn't broken, but I am having "issues"
A little background here: I have an iPad that I have been using to read/annotate PDFs, and (my fault) I haven't sync'ed it since last year. If I remember right, I had problems getting it to work, and figured it was just me at that time. Since then, I have shattered the screen on the iPad; it is due ...

Re: Web of Science filter
Hi Jon, Yes I tried Bookends browser. See number 4 in the previous post. Bookends allows me to access WoS. I can then try to download the references to my specified topic but only get some 50-60% of what WoS says it found. The remaining 40% or so references are not acknowledged by Bookends, even whe...

Re: Web of Science filter
Well this just is "JUST DANDY." WoS doesn't work. I will consider all ideas, no matter how ridiculous it may sound. This is what I have tried: 1. I have tried using the WoS filter to find references in the search function. Does not work. 2. I have turned off the firewall, then tried the Wo...

Web of Science filter
Hi folks. I'm trying to search Web of Science using the "Online Search" button in BE. It seemed to work a while back, but not now. When I do this from home through my employer's VPN, I get a "No matches found for IP XXX.XX.X.XX" followed by a "No response from the Web of Sci...

Re: Movie files (or, specifically, .avi files)
Forgot about that; at least now I can see the video. Is there a way to make it automatically launch in Bookends? If not, I can certainly live with what I have now. (Forgot about associating files like that, it's been a long time since I have had to do that!
)
Thanks!
Diana

Thanks!

Movie files (or, specifically, .avi files)
I have looked up this question and haven't found an answer; perhaps it is there and I just didn't see it. I have a rather large database of references, some of which have movies (perhaps a minute or less long) as supplemental information. Those that are .mov files play just fine, but those that are ...
