Well, I just tried inserting another article into Bookends: https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/2512962 and pasting the full URL, then doi/10.1145/2512962 and then 10.1145/2512962 into the Quick Add and again it did not work. Maybe there is some kind of a log that I could check and see what's happening?

Yes, I can the see the proper article in the browser.
By the way, I'm doing this on Bookends 13.4.2

I must be doing something wrong, but when I go to
`Refs -> New References -> Quick Add` and enter `https://www.jstor.org/stable/2975974`
it adds a blank reference with only DOI field automatically filled in:

did not produce any new entries after pasting that DOI into the Quick Add field
