Re: Is it possible to add pages to numbered citations?
Did you edit the citation object in Mellel's pop-up window? That's strange, because I have problems after scanning text between backslashes... I didn't know about @ and numbered citations. When I composed text, I insert citations with @. And the journal which I chose later requires the numbered cita...

Re: Is it possible to add pages to numbered citations?
I had to make changes before scanning because I needed to add page numbers to cite by number.

Re: Is it possible to add pages to numbered citations?
I can‘t respond earlier (had to finish and submit my article before the deadline). My workflow includes Scrivener & Bookends (writing and incerting citations from BE) -> Mellel & Bookends (final formatting and scanning citations). After importing text from Scrivener to Mellel citations shoul...

Re: Is it possible to add pages to numbered citations?
I tested it once more. I believe the issue occurred because I added backslashes after converting text to citations in Mellel. (citations on this stage don't have braces {}) I've tried to add text between backslashes before converting citations - and it works. (It is a pity that I have to redo part o...

Re: Is it possible to add pages to numbered citations?
Jon, thank you for a fast response. The cause is not in @. (and in the BE manual one can find such a "mixed" type of citations). The text between backlashed disappears after scanning. May be this details will help: I use Mellel 5.1.4, BE 14.2 - and I add pages between backslash AFTER conve...

Re: Is it possible to add pages to numbered citations?
Returning to the topic.
After "Cite by -> Number" is selected I can't get any in-between backslashes text in the scanned citation. (see attached files)

Re: Off the wall: How do you organize your references (reading lists)
It is a pity that this interesting question remained unanswered. I'll put in my 5 cents. 1) Yes, I use BE as a reference database. It’s smartgroups as well as other features allow to manage bibliography lists for many projects. 2) Yes, I read pdf’s on IOS version of BE, using stylus. BE has all nece...

Re: Exporting notes
Sorry for bed wording. I meant that all selected notes are pasted in other place as a single text massive. I also know about ability to select notes one by one, but if you have 20+ notes for every reference, this approach is not convenient. You can export the notes using a format, where the only ent...

Exporting notes
Is there an effective way to export notes (not PDF annotations, but "ordinary" notes).
I know that one can select all notes, copy them and paste in other app. But in this case all of them are copied as a single array.

Re: Customized bibliography sort
For those who might find it useful. I asked a similar question on the Mellel forum.
Icelander has come up with two brilliant solutions to this question. He detailed step by step what needs to be done. Here is a link to a thread on the Mellel forum.

Re: Customized bibliography sort
I don't really understand the distinction between the source and the literature, but regardless I can't think of any simple way to combine different styles in a single endnote. One thought is that you could have your word processor create the endnote out of the footnote citations (they all do this ...

Customized bibliography sort
I need a style with in text citations (numbers-pages) and numbered endnotes. But endnotes should be sorted in the following order: at first sources (in citations order), then literature (alphabetically). For example: [1, p.25] [2, p.5] [3, p.50] [4, p.70] 1. Source A. 2. Source B. 3. Adam S. The Wea...

Thank you very much for your work, Jon!
And I vote for the current (horizontal) view. It looks great after the update.
