Re: Assigning papers to more than one group (aliases)
Thanks, Jonathan,Indeed, I didn't know that it's possible to have a reference in more than one static group. Would it be possible when doing a pubmed search and dragging all selected search results into a group, that existing (yellow) references will not be added as duplicates but just assigned to t...

Assigning papers to more than one group (aliases)
Wouldn't it be great if bookends would allow to assign papers to more than one (static) group or instead of duplicates create aliases? as far as I have understood, it's not possible to assign one publication to more than one group. Let say if I am researching for a new project, I do a pubmed search ...

Re: Importing .csl style into bookends
Maybe there would also be another option: (I love bookends, and I would like to use it as my primary reference managing program in the future... but having the possiblity to use CSL styles when publishing in different journals is very useful). would such a workflow be possible: 1. inserting referenc...

Re: Importing .csl style into bookends
I absolutely understand that CSL and Bookends formats are different. But I assume each field in a bookends format can be associated to a field in a CSL format, e.g. author field to author field, years field to years field, journal name to journal name? Couldn't therefore a CSL format import be a pos...

Re: notecards
I use the "highlight&add as notecard" feature in macos bookends very often. Is there any news about such a feature in the ios app? Having the possibility to select text, highlight and add as a notecard with one touch would be a welcome feature for the ios app, too.

Re: Export PDF Annotations
Wow, the new "Export Annotations" Feature of Bookends is fantastic. Thanks so much Jon!!!
it allows to export highlights, underlines and notes.
and furthermore, it allows to include pdf path, page label and date modified.

Re: Copy notecard and citation
Dear Jon wow - it's simply great that you plan an annotation export feature for multiple pdfs in the future. Bookends is a great product, and this will make it even better for my workflow. Just as a suggestion: it would be great to export also the temporary citations... the export syntax could maybe...

Re: Copy notecard and citation
yes, manually it's possible, as you have explained. an output of annotations with a format would allow to extract annotations of all selected documents with one click into a file directly within bookends and without the need for using a third party software. for me this would make sense. but I can a...

Re: Export Note Cards
would it be possible to modify the script in a way, that I can select multiple (!) references, and all annotations in these references are copied into notecards (and if the script runs a second time, only the new annotations are copied into notecards)? probably not so easy, I assume?!

Re: Copy notecard and citation
@Jon do you think adding the possibility to "extract/output" annotations with a format output (like N for notecards, and A for annotations) might be included in a future update? I know, that annotations can be extracted with third-party programs, but being able to this directly with booken...

Re: Using citation format created on MacOS in Bookends for iOS
bookends and pandoc: dear iandol, maybe (if you have time) you can record a screencast video how to stetup pandoc with bookends and word? that would be fantastic. bookends and csl: Jon, please regard my suggestion of (optionally) supporting CSL in bookends as a feature suggestion/request. I understa...

Re: Using citation format created on MacOS in Bookends for iOS
yes, indeed, for me it was very frustrating to attempt to use pandoc in combination with bookends, despite reading the instructions that ai have found. I cannot assess how difficult it is to integrate CSL support in bookends. As far as I have understood it is not a high priority for Jon - but that d...

Re: Using citation format created on MacOS in Bookends for iOS
dear iandol, I would not replace the bookends styles with csl, but I am just suggesting of supporting CSL additionally / optionally on macos. As the fields codes of csl are already assigned to the bookends fields (in bookends ios csl works fine), I assume (but I may be wrong) that it would be feasib...
