LOL. I am indeed. Apologies.
I was forced into Endnote by work, and whence free again, immediately went back to Bookends. So much better. But I have the endnote software still on my computer and I overlooked it wasn't about Bookends. A relief really.

When I open Word (16.83), it says the Bookends plugin is not compatible. Please advise.

Re: Roll Back to Previous Version
Hi All. I solved this problem by using Time Machine to restore the prior Bookends installer app, then installed the older version over the new. I hope this helps others who make a similar mistake.

Roll Back to Previous Version
Just today I made the mistake of updating my Bookends without realizing it constituted a new paid version. Currently Bookends is running in demo mode. My employer is mandating Endnote so I will be switching to that soon. My use of Bookends will thus be on pause. So how do I roll back to my previous ...

Exporting RIS files
Hi, I'm part of a writing team that is using a mix of Bookends and Endnote on Macs. Exports from Bookends to .xml files are not playing well with Endnote. We've gone through a complex step of transforming these through Mendeley into .ris files, and that seemed to work. I've read elsewhere on the for...

Re: References in footnotes
I apologize, but I am still missing something. Probably obvious. :( I've transferred all the intext citations to footnotes. I scan the document and the footnoted citations do not turn into the full references but author-date citations. Instead of full references being in the footnotes, a bibliograph...

References in footnotes
Hello, I have a document with intext citations. I want to format these in the Oxford Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCLA) style. Bookends lacks legal format styles so I created a custom OSCLA style. Previews of the references look great. The problem is that OSCLA wants its references p...

Re: Scanning Apple Pages documents
Sorry, really garbled that last sentence. If I take the pages doc, export it to MS Word, I can properly scan it within Word. This is the same computer using the same Bookends app.
As for the autoloading, that makes sense.

Copy and Revise Reference
Hello, I'm wondering how I copy and revise a reference. What I'm thinking of here are multiple chapters by different authors from an edited volume. It would be helpful to complete one reference, then copy it so as to revise the chapter authors etc. without losing the editor and volume information. T...
