NIH grants
The new electronic grant submission system from NIH does away with the old forms (which were in Word format), and REQUIRES that text be saved without headers, footers, etc. It seems to me that this is a perfect time for all of us grant writers to finally dump Word and switch to Pages - which has bet...

Hi - You are right, the text citations are replaced in the NEW .rtf file. However, that file lacks all the figures that I inserted in the original document. In my previous post, I meant that I could past the bibliography into the original Pages document (with the figures). However, that one doesn't ...

From BookEnds, Copy>Selected Citations works half-way with Pages 2. Bookends switches to Pages, but doesn't paste in the references. But typing Command-V puts them in. From Pages, I can save the document as RTF that Bookends scans. It puts the bibliography on the clipboard, which I can then paste in...

Pages 2.0 does not include support for Automator, but does include support for AppleScript. Opening the Pages "Dictionary" in AppleScript editor shows several Pages suites including the "Pages Text Suite" with the following commands: insert page break character character style in...

Re: Bookends Suggestions:
5) maintain search word accross group switch so one can change groups and not have to retype the search phrase I think that's likely to cause more problems (confusion) than it solves, I'm afraid. Jon Sonny Software[/quote] I agree this would be really helpful. It takes just one click to clear the s...

This is clearly a very popular topic. Maybe support for Pages is worth another try with Apple?

Bookends is great... but how do I get rid of Word?
I have replaced Endnote with Bookends... which is great. Now I want to get rid of Word. Pages works great, but has no real Bookends (or Endnote) support. I need to create complex documents with embedded images (NIH grant proposals). Word is the standard, but has so many quirks I would love to replac...
