Re: Add a reference PDF then create new Entry....
I look forward to this update too. I was trying to understand what I was doing wrong on iOS. Thanks Serge.

Re: Editing/deleting iOS markup on Bookends Desktop
Interestingly, after saving in AdobeReaderDC, the handwritten annotation has now become clickable inside Bookends macOS.
It brings up a red box, with a red checkbox, but I am unable to type within it. So it looks like support is partially there within the inbuilt PDF viewer.

Re: Editing/deleting iOS markup on Bookends Desktop
I've been doing some testing, and it is possible to use AdobeReaderDC to move/delete handwritten notes on macOS. Then save the file, and it updates the iCloud copy (and thus the Bookends copy too). Jon: Which built-in PDF rendering engine do you use for Bookends? (I have to say that it is very good ...

Editing/deleting iOS markup on Bookends Desktop
Is it expected to be possible to edit/delete iOS markup (made with Apple Pencil) when using macOS? I've added a number of handwritten notes to a PDF using the iOS app. These scribbles sync fine to macOS, but (unlike highlights) I am not able to edit them in any way on the Mac. Neither when using Boo...

PDF markup - ignore fingers?
In the iOS app, I am using the Apple Pencil to add markup. In other apps, I believe it is possible to use fingers to navigate around the PDF document whilst maintaining markup only via the pencil (i.e. when the iOS recognises that the pencil is being used, and it knows NOT to draw with any finger in...

I haven't had an iCloud nag for at least a couple of days now either.

Re: Tell me about your paper-writing bookends workflow
The universal cite-key sounds interesting. What I don't understand is that the linked document mentions that some Author-Date combinations have many thousands of hits. Yet the proposed implementation only provides for up to a couple of hundred unique citekeys for a given author-year combination. As ...

Re: Jumping cursor when searching references
I am not observing such a bug here I am afraid. Running OSX 10.11.6 and Bookends 13.0.3 (recently downloaded).
Perhaps worth reinstalling Bookends, just in case?

Date Modified field when attachments are edited
A question for the users of Bookends (and Bookends for iOS):
Would it be helpful, or a hindrance, for the Date Modified of a reference to be altered by highlighting/markup of a PDF attachment?

Re: BUG (?): Render issues in split-view mode (MacOS 10.13.3 beta)
It looks like a 10.13.3 issue then. The Full screen split view works fine for me on 10.11.6 EDIT: Actually, the above is not true. El Capitan is also broken. In the latest version, the second screen issue Full-Screen is not yet fixed. Also, I noticed that the Split screen issue is also broken in El ...

Re: iOS feature request(s)
Thanks Serge. Please let me clarify: Yes. Bookends for iOS does remember the last viewed location within PDFs - this is great - please don't accidentally lose that essential feature. What I was asking would be for there to be a way that Bookends for iOS can remember recently viewed PDFs - so that th...

Re: BUG (?): Render issues in split-view mode (MacOS 10.13.3 beta)
This sounds like the same known bug that was affecting second displays. Jon told me that this is fixed in a silent update to Bookends. I was advised to re-dwonload the latest release. Please report back here if the update fixes it.

I would also be interested in Bookends implementing this feature - mostly for Label names and colours.

Re: Dropbox Sync (migrating from Sente)
I'm back at home. I've switched on iCloud Drive, changed preferences so that the default location for attachments is now the Bookends iCloud folder, and then synced my Bookends library on the Mac. Problem: 95% of the attachments are unavailable to Bookends - even though I can see them in the iCloud ...

Re: iOS feature request(s)
#2 When browsing within a PDF, internal hyperlinked can be clicked taking the viewer to specific figures/pages/references etc. This is excellent. BUT: Please can you implement a "Back" arrow so that it is simple to navigate back to the prior location? Ideally would be a pair of Forward/Bac...
