Re: Feature requests re: PDF annotation interface
2. To be clear, some PDF actions generate a "page history", in which case the Go Forward/Go Back gear menu options (and keyboard shortcuts) work. This includes using the Home and End keys. It doesn't include the Page Up/Down keys, but does work with the keyboard shortcuts Option-Up-arrow/O...

Re: No icloud access, best way to set up library?
If you don't have cloud access the only way I can think of is sneaker net (copy the ibrary from one computer to another). The one thing you should not do is place the library in a file-share folder, because that will ultimately cause problems. https://www.sonnysoftware.com/support/faq#may-i-use-drop...

Re: No icloud access, best way to set up library?
There should be no problem using an attachment folder on an external hard drive. Please Rebuild your library. If you still have a crash, please contact support@sonnysoftware.com and include the crash log.

Re: Feature requests re: PDF annotation interface
Delete is not undo-able, hence the warning. The popover is only relevant when there is selected text, which is going to be only a small fraction of the time one spends with it. And I, at least, wouldn't want to have taking up space if it wasn't needed (especially on a smaller laptop screen). Frankly...

Re: Feature requests re: PDF annotation interface
1. Going full screen is not just about the PDF, it's the entire window. Even in the "focus" view, you have access to the right pane (edit, note stream, summary). Adding another UI element that does the same thing as the window's green enlarge button is redundant and not native to macOS. 2....

Re: Feature requests re: PDF annotation interface
I've made these changes for the next update: 1. A new Settings menu in the PDF Action popup has an option to "Focus on PDF in Full Screen" (the previous and now default behavior). If unchecked you'll have access to groups and references in full screen. 2. Hold down Command when pressing De...

Re: Feature requests re: PDF annotation interface
Thanks for your thoughts. Realize that although the PDF functions in Bookends have evolved to encompass many features found in dedicated readers, their main purpose is to enhance reference management and reference citing. Hence features like integration with the note stream, PDF tabs, deep hypertext...

Please send a small (5-10 reference) library to support@sonnysoftware.com so we can experiment with possible solutions for this.

Re: [Feature Request] Support CSL-JSON Format
Would this be an option for Create/Sync Linked BibTeX File? Or something more general?

Re: Feature request: Split common settings for primary and secondary citations
I know this, but what if I want to use different page-range contraction settings (124-24 vs 124-124)? Then I completely lose the automatisation. I'd much prefer when there are options to do this sort of thing in the code or the UI already before doing the manual edits. That is not correct. Please e...

Re: Feature request: Split common settings for primary and secondary citations
You realize that in the temp citation you can override the format's general setting and specify any punctuation you prefer yourself? This is done with backslashes. For example, this temp citation {temp cite@\: \12-15} would result in a colon before the cited page, whereas {temp cite@\, \12-15} would...

Re: Dealing with a persistent comma problem in cited pages
You can have different cited pages settings for different Type, but not for primary vs second citations of the same type. A simple solution is to not use cited page for the secondary citation, but literal text:
{temp cite\, p. 46.\}

{temp cite\, p. 46.\}

Re: Replicata Book Chapter bug?
The final output doesn't tell me much (except I don't see how you could get the words "Edited by" in it, based on the format order field you posted). Rather, I'd need to see the edit pane's contents in both cases. This is something that would be much easier to deal with if you wrote to sup...

Re: Author Date: page
That's not correct, those are choices for separating the author and date. You're speaking here about Cited Pages, which are ad hoc modifications to the temp citation. You can tell Bookends what to output before (and after, if you like) Cited Pages when the scan is done. You would enter ": "...
