Re: Creating removable in-text citations question
Would it be worth it to find another character which could be added to the beginning of an in-text citation (after the opening bracket) to show the page range and add the reference to the bibliography after a scan?

Creating removable in-text citations question
How can I have an in-text citation with cited pages be transformed after a scan into *just* cited pages, like (34)? I've consulted pages 232-239 of the manual, but I can't seem to find anything, and I could swear that this was possible in the past.

Re: auto-sync upon launch?
I've tried deleting the library from my iPad, deleting Bookends for iOS from my iPad and reinstalling, force-quitting — but Bookends never syncs upon launch. I always have to invoke sync manually. What can I do to fix this? [success!] It's finally working now -- go figure. By the way, it would be gr...

Drag and Drop
Is adding drag and drop of references (citations) from Bookends to other apps in Split View on the list of features to add? If not, could you please add it?

Integration with 1Password
Since Bookends for iOS can integrate 1P in the browser, could Bookends for Mac OS do this as well?

Great. Otherwise one has no idea whether the displayed information is up to date or not.

Re: auto-sync upon launch?
Is there any troubleshooting I can perform? I'm fairly certain that sync never initiates upon launch.
It might be helpful if there were some visual indication that sync has not been performed.

auto-sync upon launch?
When I launch Bookends for iOS, it never seems to update automatically — I seem to have to tap on “Sync” in the sidebar in order to update the library. It’s weird, because while typing this message, when I switched back to Bookends to look at something, I saw Bookends automatically invoke sync. Shou...

Re: A couple of usability suggestions
3. The tab bar in Bookends appears above the toolbar, not below it, as in every other Mac OS app. Again, this is strange and unexpected behaviour that I feel detracts more than it might add as so much of usability - especially on the Mac with such well established interface design conventions - sta...

Re: Help needed: Indexing Bookends attachment folder with Devonthink
Please start a new thread when introducing a new topic. This is only tangentially related to the original post. You can sync attachments with Dropbox between Macs if you want -- that's why it's an option in Preferences. Please see the User Guide and read about Bookends cloud sync. You only need to ...

Re: Help needed: Indexing Bookends attachment folder with Devonthink
Will Bookends ever be able to sync attachments across platforms (Mac OS-iOS) via Dropbox folders instead of only via iCloud Drive? What is so special about iCloud?

Bookends 13: opening the editing pane
A major change appears to have been made in the Bookends UX: although p.63 of the most recent version of the manual states, "To display a particular reference in the editable reference pane, double-click on it or highlight it press Return or Enter," double-clicking no longer appears to ope...

Re: Store Passwords in Bookends Browser
I corresponded with Jon about this very issue last month. I think it would entail switching to Safari View Controller: "The new SFSafariViewController class enables you to deliver interactive web content in your app just like Safari, including the key Safari UI elements already familiar to your...

remembering layout and settings across launches
Hi everyone, I recently raised the question with Jon about the fact that while Bookends recalls the general window layout across launches, it doesn't retain the chosen reference, the open pdf, and so forth. He replied that no one has requested this feature before. Would anyone else be interested? I ...
