Re: Open in Bookends using Share Menu?
Indeed, I don't know anything about how the Share Menu interacts with various kinds of apps. I had always assumed, perhaps wrongly, that the Share Menu on Mac and on iOS was smart enough to know which apps could receive certain types of data/files. For example, I have a content blocker (Magic Lasso)...

Re: Open in Bookends using Share Menu?
Thanks, Jon. I think what I have in mind is the following: - if a webpage is being looked at in the RSS reader (or browser), it opens up Bookends' own browser in order to import the data/PDF into Bookends. - if a PDF is being looked at, it attaches it to a new item. I understand this can be done thr...

Open in Bookends using Share Menu?
Hello. I have recently started NetNewsWire (on Mac and iOS) again to keep on top of journals. On the Mac, it does not seem there is a way for me to open an article from NetNewsWire in Bookends, because Bookends does not use MacOS's Share Menu extensions. Am I wrong in this?

Re: 3-way sync among iPhone, iPad and Mac
Thanks for the clear reply, Jon. That is a creative solution indeed, that should be perfectly functional for someone starting afresh. Unfortunately, in my case, it would be unwieldy as I already have a large collection of 7k attachments. For what it's worth, since writing two days ago when I was fir...

Re: 3-way sync among iPhone, iPad and Mac
Sorry to revive an old thread. But I wanted to see if there was any update on selective syncing via iCloud for iOS. I am using a new iPad that only has 32gb storage. My Bookends PDF collection is more than double that size. But I had (mistakenly?) assumed that I could sync my database, then choose w...

Re: Can a user choose the copy citation style?
For my purposes, that would be sufficient. Thank you.

Can a user choose the copy citation style?
Hello. I sometimes write in Pandoc Multimarkdown. On my Mac, I have followed the directions of https://www.rousette.org.uk/archives/bookends-and-pandoc/ , and can successful copy a citation in Pandoc's formation, e.g. [@Chang2001]. I am increasingly doing more of my formal writing on my iPad, using ...

Re: Bookends for iOS released
I *think* my keeping iCloud Drive on my iPad open helped the syncing move along on the iOS side. And I've also noticed that sometimes you have to click on a reference twice, in Bookends for iOS, before the PDF populates the top right corner.

Re: setting up attachments for iCloud sync
For what it's worth: two days in and I still can't see the Bookends folder in the Finder (even when I use terminal to show invisible files and folders) under "iCloud Drive". But I can see it perfectly fine in PathFinder (a Finder replacement app). Having now dragged and dropped my 12k+ PDF...

Thank you, Serge, indeed the round trip worked well. This will serve fine until the upcoming update. Many thanks.

Request: Open/move in Extensions (+ better Apple Pencil support)
Hello. I'm using BOT on a 12.9 iPad Pro, and would like to be able to open a PDF in other PDF editing apps, make my changes, and then return to BOT and find the changes made. My understanding is that this is possible if the app developer has implemented the open/move aspects of Apple's documentation...

Great to hear for the first set of issues. As for l' and company, do you meant that there is no solution to that problem?

Thanks Jon. Please see my additional second paragraph above, which I seem to have edited in after you'd replied to my first paragraph. Many thanks.

tildas and "Don't change case"
Is there any way to get an a with a tilda (à) to not be capitalised? I have added it to the "Don't change case" list in the preferences, but that doesn't seem to have an effect. (I have automatic capitalisation selected in the Formats Manager.) Incidentally, I'm also getting what is, to me...
