the new version of scribe allows exporting in a number of formats... It also imports from zotero, bookends, endnote, etc...

Little update to this thread:

A new version of scribe (created with filemaker 8) has recently been released and the next update (3.2) promises to include ability to import from bookends databases. Exactly what I need!! Needless to say, I'm waiting anxiously.

Gerben, I have the same problem. I tried scribe once and ended up with the same problem of having to input things twice. I'm currently writing my notes on bookends but once I start working on my thesis I'll probably need to use something else - something that allows me to have multiple notes per ref...

Procite to Bookends

Since I had fairly recent versions of both ProCite and EndNote (5 and 7, respectively), all I had to do to transfer my referencs from ProCite to Bookends was open my ProCite database in EndNote, set the style to Refer, and then export it as text file.
