I figured it out. In the new OS, the user>library is hidden, so you have use the Go menu in the finder and hold down the option key for it to appear. Copied the old folder to there and... sorted.
Thanks Jon.

Re: New Computer; how to transfer formats
I have done. How strange that the arrangement of directories has changed so much between version of the OS?

Re: New Computer; how to transfer formats
In 10.8.2 there is no library folder under the user directory. The library folder only appears under the main directory (Macintosh HD). That's where I've put the app support folder for Bookends.

Re: New Computer; how to transfer formats
Thank you. I move the Bookends folder, exactly as you described, but the custom formats still don't appear. In fact, none of my preferences appear. It's as if I've never used the app before. Luckily I still have my old machine running, with several publication deadlines looming, this seems a risky b...

New Computer; how to transfer formats
Dear Forum,
I got a new iMac and I have tried download Bookends from the website as well as copying it from my old machine, together with the libraries in the documents section, but my custom formats have gone. How can I make the transfer and preserve my custom formats?
Many thanks,
S.

Yet again, wrong refs in my book.
I'm losing patience with this. I have a detailed academic book now around 300 pages. Every few months I print a copy and go through it with a pen. Each time I have to spend several days trying to figure out how many references Bookends has replaced with some other author from the same part of the al...

Re: Unwanted substitutions
Well, it happened again. Should I unscan a document before each scan? (I may also put this on the Mellel forum, but it seems like a Bookends thing).

Unwanted substitutions
I have a large document (240 pages or so) in Mellel and a fairly large bibliography/number of citation from Bookends. In the past few weeks I've had a few very irritated incidents of unwanted substitutions. For example, without any prompting or changes to either file it will replace all of the citat...

Re: Mellel Beta 2.5
Thanks Jon, but the problem to which I am referring is in the bibliography, not the references (the latter are fine). I think the font output for this is determined in Bookends, no?
Thanks,
S.

Re: Mellel Beta 2.5
Jon, I've tried a few tests and it seems that this strangeness is on the Bookends side of things. Is there someplace in Bookends where it might make some kind of font substitution that I might be missing? My bibliographies are fine in Times or any other font, but not Warnock Pro. Perhaps the font is...

Mellel Beta 2.5
One of my first actions using the Mellel Beta 2.5 was to scan my document. This has always worked beautifully, but now the regular text is replaced with 'light caption'. I have selected in Bookends prefs to use Warnock Set (as I always have). In short, I have changed nothing else but to use the beta...
