Window size: external display vs laptop
Minor issue: Bookends displays windows fine when my laptop is connected to an external monitor. However, if I'm on my laptop, I cannot resize the window. Only by entering "full screen view" can I see the entire window properly on the laptop display.

Re: Bookends for iPad
Hi, Actually, Bookends On Tap is progressing very well. I anticipate we will open up testing to a small group of users in a few weeks. Once that phase is over I'll post on this forum asking for a small number of people to sign up for beta testing. Jon Sonny Software Great news and timing. I'm getti...

Re: Bookends freeze after changing external displays on Macbook
What OS are you running? I recall having these problems before but after upgrading to Snow Leopard haven't had any problems recently.

Re: Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair
You're most welcome. I re-checked Dropbox and see how you could use it for backups. Quite slick. But I'm assuming that you need to have any files destined for backup in the Dropbox folder for this to work. That is less convenient (unless I'm missing some way to designate what gets uploaded to the Dr...

Re: Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair
Using Dropbox is a good idea. I didn't realize it had the Time Machine like capabilities either. Recently I started using Arq, which does backups to Amazons S3 online storage. Only .15/gigabit plus bandwidth charges. Arq operates like Time Machine, too, and also allows you to specify a monthly budge...

Re: Feature Request: Text Clipping
You're welcome. Thanks for the prompt reply, and happy Memorial Day. I checked the code on the site, and an import filter may work. The main identifying tag would be <article title>; author coming before, Volume, issue, page number after. But the filter would only work for that particular site. Each...

Feature Request: Text Clipping
After cutting and pasting some 20 or so journal articles from an HTML page, I thought of a possible feature addition that would make BE even better: a text clipping option that once imported onto a clipboard could be easily divided into different fields based on author, title, journal title, etc. Ma...

Re: National Diet Library (of Japan)
Just checked the FTP site, but no filter yet. How hard is it to create such filters? Or might it be easier to just use WorldCat, save records as .ris files, then import them into BE?
Thanks. どおもありがと

Re: BE fails to open in Snow Leopard
Hi, Actually, I don't expect it to work for *anybody*... I've replaced Sparkle (under Snow Leopard) in the next Bookends update with a simpler, but effective, update mechanism. If/when Sparkle is made compatible with SL, I'll reinstate it. Jon Sonny Software Oh, of course. Not implying that I'm som...

Re: "Some citations could not be found..." issue
This was clearly my misunderstanding, yet Jon helped me promptly and was patient throughout the process.
It's great when a developer listens to his user base, responds to reasonable feature requests, offers generous support, and creates an outstanding product. Thanks again, Jon.

Re: "Some citations could not be found..." issue
I created a Mellel file and test DB. Did one scan and the same problem occurred. Again, it seems more prevalent with series titles or more complex references. But if BE is simply looking for limited terms and resolving them while undertaking the scan, I don't understand why the bibliography is such ...

Re: "Some citations could not be found..." issue
It should not matter, but I noticed the problematic references all seem to include volume series information.
Well, I'll send you the files.
Thanks.
