attach file ... and autocomplete - PubMed

Hi, This is more a PubMed problem, but maybe somebody here in the forum can explain me, what's going on. I have encountered now for several times a strange behavior when I attach a pdf using autocomplete. The thing is, when I copy a part of the title (e.g. "MecA, an adaptor protein") into ...

Re: In-text citation Quick Reference

OK, I see. To stupid. On a French keyboard you have a "^" which is used e.g. for "hôtel" and has nothing to do with the control key "ctrl". Everything works now.

Thanks,

Re: In-text citation Quick Reference

Hi,

This is indeed very useful. However the shortcut ^cmdY doesn't work for me. I'm using a French keyboard and I assume that the key ^makes the trouble. Anyone any idea?
Thanks,
tom

Re: Attach and autocomplete

"Import reference from Internet and then attach" is also broken....at least sometimes it attaches the pdf to an existing reference even if "Import reference from Internet..." is activated

Re: Attach multiple files to new references in one step

Hi Jon, Thanks for the update, it works fine. Just in my opinion the default behavior should behave the same way like you drop one file. The way it works for one file (attach file to reference xxxxx, with "Attach this file to a new reference and autocomplete" as an option) should also work...

Re: Attach multiple files to new references in one step

yes, that would be nice. Shift-command would be OK for me. Nowadays nearly all articles have supplementary files (at least in my working field). Its quiet often that I have multiple files belonging to one reference.

Thanks,

Attach multiple files to new references in one step

Hi, I understand that this new feature (BE 11.0.5) can be helpful for importing a bundle of files to new references. But how can I import multiple files to one (existing) reference (like it was before the case: multiple files were attached to one ref). For example, I have a reference with its pdf do...

Re: more trouble with punctuation in my formatted citations

I am having some trouble with my formatted citations, and any help would be appreciated. The first issue is this: I've deselected the period that follows my cited pages in the "Bib & Citation Options" page, but—randomly, it seems—a period still follows in a few of my formatted cit...

I do this like this: {\See \Miller, 1986;Schulz, 1954}

I agree with ozean, just what I would like is that BE remembers the import filters I have inactivated . Usually I use only a few general filters like RIS and Bibtex. I deactivate all universities filters after each update, otherwise the scrolling list is to long for my needs (I wonder anyway on what...

Bookend won't delete attachments automatically -- among other things, the same attachment could be shared by other references. You can use the Attacment Inspector to move them to the trash, though. Right, the only problem is that I can't use the Attachment Inspector when the "manual delete&quo...

Remove Duplicates

Nowadays, a lot of journals offer access to papers in press. That means, I can download the manuscript or the article 'in proof'. The final paper is then published a few weeks later. Because of that, I have a lot of papers in duplicate - the preprint and the final version. With a "Remove Duplic...

As you have mentioned, not all programs will accept the hyperlink (like Mellel). Can you create a menu item to copy the URL of the citation? That way the URL can be copied into programs that don't support the hyperlinks. Danny, if I drag and drop a reference with control-option into a word document...

I launch BE by opening my default database, that means I have my database in the dock, not BE. This way, BE opens always with my default database (hope this was clear enough)
