Re: Disappearing Cursor?

So, this issue wasn't fixed in 11.0.1. Bummer.

Re: Disappearing Cursor?

Jon, I think you should go back to the old framework. The disappearing cursor really slows me down (feels like the delayed screen refresh I used to get in Virtual PC on my old G3!). I know the code on Bookends goes back quite a way, and you'd rather avoid the conversion, but issues like this seem to...

Disappearing Cursor?

I'm using the new Version 11, and I noticed that my cursor disappears when I'm in a field and I try to move the cursor using the arrow keys. The cursor moves but I can't see it until I stop pressing a key. Any idea what is going on? Thanks.

Then I am at a loss. It must be something system-specific. Can you try another Mac, by any chance? I can't, but I *am* on a new Mac. I just moved over (about a month ago) to a Macbook Pro, and this problem occurred with BE9 on my old Powerbook. BTW, I deleted all my preferences just to be sure, and...

That's already used for opening the attachment pane (paper clip inside a rectangle, or document)
How about spectacles or binoculars (or something to signify viewing)?

Jon, did the above with my regular database and with a new one, and in both cases, BE reopened with a tiny window instead of maximized. Sorry.

Jon, Bookends forgets the window size (and pane sizes) when you zoom or maximize the window to fill the whole screen, and then quit while the window is maximized like this. If the window isn't maximized with the zoom button then it does remember the window and pane sizes. BE9 had this problem as wel...

Minor UI Points: Maximize and PDF Icon

First off, Bookends 10 seems like a great update to the program. Being able to view (almost) everything in the main window is the right direction for the program to take. I just had two minor points to ask about: 1. If I maximize the BE window and then quit, when I reopen the program, the window def...

I agree, as well, that the UI is headed in the right direction. But because Jon develops the application in RealBasic, I always wonder what level of "modern" OSX UI polish (as seen in Cocoa apps) is possible. He might be pushing the limit of it, as it is!

Jon,

Great! But the way this is written made me think that you hadn't updated this page since you updated to the new version (i.e., you were still talking aobut version 8.x in this paragraph).

Bookends 9: Paid or Not?

Jon,

Is the Bookends 9 upgrade a paid one or free from BE8? I can't seem to find that info anywhere. Thanks.

Change fonts (silly question :)

As the subject says this question is a bit silly, in that it's not of pressing importance, and yet it's annoying nevertheless so I'll ask it: When I change what font the references display in, some fields where I must have pasted rich text instead of plain text, don't change (i.e, they are stuck in ...

Too early for a feature request?

But first let me send kudos to Jon on the excellent job he's done on the new version. I like the new iTunes-like interface (it almost seems like it should be in iApp Metallic :), and everything seems to be working well so far. OK, here's the first feature request: A simple one really. How about addi...
