Re: feature request: Replace repeated authors with
In addition, it seems to be that this can be taken care of by post-processing the bibliography. That is true! Finally, the original requester told me that this citation style was archaic and being phased out At least for legal studies that is not true! And I'll think about this issue, I assure you....

Re: feature request: Replace repeated authors with
btw: the German scientific legal community is only starting to use bibliographic software like Bookends. A lot of the young professors work on macs and are starting only now to realize how large the synergies are... A great market. If you can make your program even more superior than it already is, ...

Re: feature request: Replace repeated authors with
...how many non-english speaking social science users do you have? And do you want to start catering for them to increase their numbers? Same treatment for the editors would be amazing but the authors are by far more important. I understand the your UI argument. You could stretch the UI a little bit...

yes, the group would be enough! We are sexist in that way. The French as well. Does that make it easier?

Re: feature request: Replace repeated authors with
Jon, I am not an Endnote-expert, but it sure does, as my Colleagues quote it as one reason for not changing to Bookends... Two small checkboxes next to the author field (female or multiple, if male is standard) and two additional text fields next to the "Replace repeated author with:"-chec...

Re: feature request: Replace repeated authors with
Dear Jon, I have just come across this old feature request and I would like to hereby renew it. With leaving this feature (including the female/male/multiple author differentiation) out you give a great part of the German social science and legal science communities a reason not to purchase Bookends...

restore default field labels and reference types
Hey Jon,
is there a way to restore default field labels and reference types? I've messed up a lot of things along the way so that a huge Endnote import doesn't really arrive the way it should anymore...
Thanks for your help!

Re: convert text to citation
Footnotes, no. As for references in a bibliography, you're best bet is to try File -> Import From Existing Bibliography. This will work for references that have DOIs assigned (not in the bibliography item itself) and are indexed by CrossRef. Try it and see if it gets at least some of those referenc...

convert text to citation
Dear Jon,
is there any way to import all the references in a normal WORD Document with approx 1700 footnotes (and approx 400 cited titles) to a Bookends database? The information does not have to be perfect, but a first step would save ma a hell of a lot of time!
Thanks,
Hendrik
