Thanks, Jon! It is good to know the issue is simply in how the format was created by others, so I can be confident in just making the edits.
I appreciate your responsiveness, as always.

Re: The Bookends Guide to the SBL format
Thanks, Jon. The preferences setting you mentioned was/is set for "smart quotes" and has "English" selected. I have the desired quote marks in other formats. In my "Formats" for the SBL Second Edition, the Bibliography field order looks like this: a, «t.» $$ j v$/$i` `(...

Re: The Bookends Guide to the SBL format
Hello, Does anyone happen to know if the SBL Second Edition formats were intended to have a non-English style of quotation marks- such as this "angle quote" style: « Just wondering if I need to go into the Formats Manager and revise those, or if something else whacky is going on in my vers...

Scan removes footnote and temporary citation
Hello, Using Word 2011 and BE 11.2.6, I have just run into an issue with a footnote and citation. I edited some text in the body, added a footnote, inserted the citation through the scripts menu, and added the page numbers (using @44). I then scan the document through the scripts menu. When done, th...

Re: Author name and characters
Thanks, Jon. I thought I had that set for author, editor, and title in the format. Looking again, I failed to change the "type" of citation in the "Formats Manager." Now I have gone through the various types available and set them all to "as entered." I appreciate your ...

Author name and characters
I have an author with III in the name, but even though I have author format set to appear as entered, it appears as Iii. I also tried following the author name with a comma, but it still appears the same way. This is the latest version of Bookends in Lion, using SBL.
Thanks for any tips!

Re: Adding SBL to Bookends 11.1.7
I was editing while you were responding. I was wondering:
So, I think you are telling me to go to the system library folder, open "application support" there (I do not see any Bookends folder in there), and drag in the folder with the SBL files?
Thank you.

Re: Adding SBL to Bookends 11.1.7
The other two are mentioned in his instructions here: Take the two preference files (bookends preferences and the .plist file) and drop them into Library > preferences. When you launch Bookends again, you will have to put in your serial # again. So, I think you are telling me to go to the system lib...

Adding SBL to Bookends 11.1.7
Hello- I am new to Mac (with Lion) so may be missing something very simple, but I have not been able to figure out what to do with the SBL files created by D. Zachararias. I have his guide and the 3 files that have the Bookends icon (SBL Bib, SBL footnote, and SBL in-text). His instructions refer to...
