Re: [Feature Request] Auto-sync to a BibTeX File

Bookends is a swiss knife that conforms to many text editors but does not fit nicely to the needs of LaTeX users. For that I'm using JabRef, which offers native bib sync right out of the box. Also, the creation and maintenance of reference fields is more flexible, in my view. I actually use both ref...

Re: How do you avoid duplicate CiteKeys across libraries?

I use one library for everything so I don't face that problem. But if I were you I would distinguish articles with a "dash." For example Joe2000a is a book, and Joe2000-a is an article. The problem is that BE does not automatically add "dash" to your articles library.

Excellent addition. Previewing PDF with spacebar could be a future bonus within the floating cite window.

Re: Very useful script from our @Iandol

Nice to know that you use BibLaTeX as well.Yes KM is the glue that binds LaTeX, Scrivener, and Sublime Text for me. KM also manages BE well, giving me the lists that you mentioned. I'm a lay person, no coding knowledge whatsoever, but was able to produce all the scripts in KM for repetitive tasks. K...

Re: Very useful script from our @Iandol

It's good to know that there is a universal way to automate workflow with any app. But I would like to mention an alternate way to suit your particular needs. My workflow is more restricted, but includes powerful scripts that can save a ton of time as well. The reason for the restriction is that I u...

Re: Replicating book chapter excludes volume

That's understandable. The question is whether it would be useful for users to add custom fields for replication. More particularly, the very field of Vol has been taken by the book title, so it follows that volume number has to be transferred somewhere that is preferably replicated as well.

Replicating book chapter excludes volume

When I replicate a book chapter, the book name is replicated correctly under the vol field, but the volume number is not. In my case I use field u4 for the volume number. Would it be possible to replicate the volume number as well? Thanks.

Re: Feature request: sub-reference types

No problem. Thanks for considering adding more Types. I've lost quite a number of hours during these past years, because I have to use a single type for more than one kind of reference. When I change one field, other references get messed up. Thanks for looking into this.

Re: Feature request: sub-reference types

Any format you create will inherit all the properties of the currently selected format. So you can modify the name at that time (e.g. My Format (England) and tweak the fields that need changing. As for more Types, I'd have to look into that. Easy to do, but I'd have to make sure it didn't break any...

Feature request: sub-reference types

In order to avoid running out of custom reference types, which are 20, I was wondering if there is a way to create additional reference types under a reference type, as sub-formats. This would be optimal, given that there are many small variations within a certain given category of reference type. F...

Action Menu via Keyboard

I want to access the Action menu (found on the inspector, as well as in the attachment pane) via keyboard, is that possible? I'm working on a (Keyboard Maestro) script that pops up the Rename Attachment window for manual edit. Or perhaps there is a shortcut for this already that I'm not aware of.
