Re: Question about highlighting

Are you talking about the “Make Bookends Notecard From Selection and Page #” feature used in Bookends for Mac?

Re: Highlight Selection and Make Bookends Notecard

If the reference doesn’t have any notes, you will see a button (looking like a link) under the abstract: “Add a note…”. If there are some notes already, they will be displayed in a note stream and you should scroll to the end to see the last notecard titled “Add a note”. We will add a new tutorial a...

Re: Cannot get icloud Bookends folder to appear

It’s hard to suggest something here, because we receive reports from our users about missing “Bookends folder with icon” on the iCloud Drive from time to time and didn’t find any working solutions. It’s not a problem of our app only, I think something is wrong on the macOS level. You mentioned that ...

Re: Bets way to enter subtitles in references?

citeproc-js has some discussion about subTitle:
https://discourse.citationstyles.org/t/ ... oc-js/1563
But it looks like we don't have a special subTitle field in CSL?

Re: Bets way to enter subtitles in references?

I don’t fully understand your request, but it looks like currently it’s not possible for 2 reasons:
1. we map only fields both Bookends and CSL can share;
2. Bookends for iOS doesn’t do scanning, we are outputting each reference just once, so there is no second time a reference is output.

Re: Cloud sync error: you can’t save the same record twice

Replacing the library shouldn't be a problem because those groups were added by Bookends as a duplicate of real groups - they can be deleted. This bug that was fixed in the recent version. Replacing the library is the only one option to fix this problem. https://www.sonnysoftware.com/phpBB3/viewtopi...

Re: Cloud sync error: you can’t save the same record twice

First of all please try to resync your library:
1. Tap on the gear icon in the Sync row.
2. “Unlink this library from cloud…”
3. Sync with your existing library in the cloud.

If it doesn't help please re-download your library from the cloud (replacing the current library).

Re: Change iCloud Library Name

You should re-upload the local renamed library to the cloud and delete the old one. All these actions (Unlink, Upload, Remove Libraries From Cloud) can be done via the cloud icon in the Bookends library window.

Re: Praise: PDF "open in" feature

Thanks! We’re glad you like it.
We decided to go with iCloud only for now as any new cloud service requires a lot of work and support, which would delay other nice features we are working on.

It will be fixed in the next update. But the library should be redownloaded from the cloud (replacing the current library).

Re: Wi-Fi Sync deletes Folders and Groups

We will see if it can be improved in future versions, but currently Wi-Fi sync works this way, taking the groups structure from Mac as a primary source. Do you have backups from your iPad. If you can restore to the version where all groups are visible on iOS please write to support@referencesontap.c...

Re: Error when syncing via iCloud: “record to insert already exists”

The main problem with this cloud sync error is that we can’t reproduce it with our data, so it’s almost impossible to find the source of the problem. We will create a special build via TestFlight with which it will be possible to send the Bookends library from iOS to us via email. If you want to hel...
