Various feature requests
Hi, I have some suggestions for improvements: Search window: add a tick box to select articles you want to import since you may want first to read through the abstracts before deciding which articles to import When importing a book allow ISBNs with dashes in the corresponding search field as this is...

Re: Smart Groups and Folders
If I understand it correctly selecting a smart folder will automatically select all its subfolders and groups (smart or not) and apply AND/OR logic to the selection. May I suggest adding a NOT operator (eventually effective only when selecting a single folder) that will display the references belong...

Re: Smart Groups and Folders
Is it possible to display only the references contained in the smart folder without the references in its subfolders? For example lets assume following smart folders/groups structure: - Infections ∟ Tonsillitis ∟ Otitis media ∟ Laryngitis ∟ Etc... Some articles have the child keywords (Tonsillitis, ...

How to organize references
Hi all, I am trying to figure out how to best organize my references in Bookends. I have used Sente before and I always kept my references in a tree-hierarchy of QuickTags pretty much like using folders in Finder. I tried to replicate that behavior in Bookends but it doesn't work for two reasons: 1....

Organize attachments folder
Hi, My workflow: I use a 13" e-ink eReader to read my pdfs and I want them organized in the same folders as in my Bookends library. I don't want to do this manually. What the script does: The shell script monitors the attachment folder and it's subfolders for new files or renamed files. If such...

Recreate groups hierarchy in attachments folder
Hallo, I organize my books and articles in a folder hierarchy in bookends using static groups and folders and I would like to have the pdf's stored in the atttachments folder organized in the same way. In order to automate the task I have come up with following solution: 1. rename imported pdf using...

Re: Hierarchical organization of keywords
Hi Jon, thanks for the advice, I wasn't aware that I could use tag cloud this way. However there are two limitations in that approach: 1. You are limited to two hierarchical levels 2. What is more important, you don't have the visual schema of the hierarchy. I will try to make the last point clearer...

Hierarchical organization of keywords
Hi, I routinely assign keywords to articles downloaded in order to have an overview. I have noticed that after a while the list of keywords can get pretty messy. Wouldn't it be a good idea to enable a hierarchical organization of the keywords as used in the MeSH terms? For example assigning the keyw...

Term list functionality on BOT
Hello, would you consider adding term list functionality to BOT in a future update? I specifically miss the ability to select the references of interest based on keywords. I know I can create smart groups, but 1. you cannot combine them in a selection 2. are more cumbersome to create than having the...
