Correct, BE simply installed on new Mac, never been used as of yet. So will do as suggested. Many thanks.

Re: Best practices for transferring BE and library/settings etc. to new Mac?
You can copy the Bookends folder in Application Support to the new Mac, which will also bring most of your preferences. The two that you should reset are the database cache (assuming you changed it from the default) and deleting any ad hoc attachment folders. Since you're on a new Mac, any such fol...

Best practices for transferring BE and library/settings etc. to new Mac?
Hi! As per the title, anything specific to keep in mind in terms of getting up and running on a new MBP? I do use the iPad version, which syncs via bonjour(?). All attachments are in a specific folder on my old MBP. So apart from copying that folder over — what else would I need to copy to try and r...

Re: Quickest way to sync new ipad?
Yes, the app can be deleted, re-installed and fully re-synced, but is also should sync fine for the restored library... Are you using Wi-Fi of Cloud Sync? Wi-fi sync, Serge. I have quite a large library –– which might explain issues with the "empty library". Will just delete, and re-insta...

Quickest way to sync new ipad?
Hi all. Just received my new 11" iPad Pro — restored the iCloud backup of my previous iPad, which was (by now), several months old. As such, I have quite a few additional references inside BE 13, that are now not on the new iPad. As in –– I want to keep the new references, and have them added t...

Import from G Scholar using BE Browser?
Hello all, Upgraded to 13.3, and followed the release notes for the Google Scholar importing – but not sure it is working as expected. After going into settings, and changing the "show links to import citations into", and having selected "RefMan" – I am not met with an option to ...

A workflow question – BE and Word proof-reading
Hello all, I thought I would pop up my query here to get an idea of how other's have done this (since it's presumably a common scenario) – and to get a sense of what might be involved. Currently, I am drafting in Scrivener. I compile into Word, run the BE scan – send off to my supervisor. At some po...

Re: Cross linking support for Devonthink
For example, do long tap on an item row in DEVONthink and choose Copy Item Link. Insert it into a note field of the reference in Bookends for iOS. The next time you will want to open that item in DEVONthink from Bookends just open a note and tap (long tap) on a link. DEVONthink will be launched nav...

Re: Custom reference types/field labels missed after update
Suspend syncing if it's already on. 1. Make a change in a reference Type in preferences (rename Author to Author1). 2. Quit Bookends. 3. Trash Installed Version.txt 4. Relaunch Bookends. Are the changes in Type you made there or reverted? Jon Sonny Software The change is there, Jon – which is presu...
