Re: Ranking references by number of citations listed in Dimensions

Hi Jon I am using user14 ( renamed citations) to store the number of citations for each reference. While this works for some types of references eg journal, other types such as book lack the user14 field. I thought the other types were based on the journal field which has user14 How do I add user14 ...

Sorting Citations (from Dimensions.ai) in User14

Updating user14 to 5 digits I am using User14 to record the number of citations, from Dimensions.ai and elsewhere, for each of my references. These are then displayed in a user14 column which I can sort. The problem is that all my user14 entries don't have the same number of digits and therefore do...

Re: Ranking references by number of citations listed in Dimensions

Updating user14

It would be good to automate the process to have an Applescript? (Keyboard Maestro?) which could check the numerals in user14 to make sure there were 4 digits and add extra zeros to the front if needed. Anyone help?

Regards

Re: Ranking references by number of citations listed in Dimensions

Hi Jon Thanks for the multiple smart group selection tip which works well thanks Add a column. Rather than using multiple Smart Group SQL searches for citation ranges, I have added a column for user 14, where I have recorded the Dimension citation number, (with extra 0s in front so there are 4 digit...

Re: Ranking references by number of citations listed in Dimensions

Jon, Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately I am not able to write Applescript and would need some help. What about a SmartGroup SQL search like this one to find those with 9 -24 citations, using user14 to store a static number= Dimensionai number for each reference? ((user14 REGEX >'9') AND (use...

Ranking references by number of citations listed in Dimensions

I love the new Dimensions.ai feature. I have about 760 references in my Bookends library. I would like to rank these using the Dimensions citation number so I can prioritise my reading. Is it possible to rank my references by the Dimensions citation number or perhaps search for those with a citation...

Re: Harvard UofA format please!

Thanks Jon, I see that the Harvard (U of Adelaide) format is included in the new update. It's a great start. I have copied the format catalogue below. Harvard (U of Adelaide).fmt (custom) Journal article: Bib: Mercep, M, Sussman, JJ & Noguchi, P 2018 ‘Activation-induced apoptosis’, Journal of Bi...

Re: Harvard UofA format please!

Hi Jon, Thank you for the video link and your advice. I'll give it a try. In Australia most of the Universities (eg University of Adelaide) have modified Harvard.fmt so that it follows the Australian Government Style Manual 6th Edition 2002, revised by Snooks & Co . Here is a link to the relevan...

Harvard UofA format please!

Does anyone already have a Bookends version of Harvard UofA format which I could obtain? It is significantly different to the standard Harvard fmt (5 Types) and last time I tried to modify the BE Harvard fmt it was too difficult for a first timer for the 20 or so reference types I have. Are there an...

Chicago 17th A.fmt additional types

I am looking to add some additional types to Chicago 17th A. fmt such as Letter, Interview, Photo. Rather than modifying one of the existing types is there another format which is similar that I could use as a model or another previous version of Chicago A that already has them and is available for ...

Re: Adding new Types and Fields to a Format

Is there a workflow you suggest to organise a large number of types, so that I can copy the format from one type to the next and then modify? As an example, I assume I would want to format consecutively all the types in the book category: book with one author, book with two authors, book chapter in ...

Re: Adding new Types and Fields to a Format

I have downloaded the Endnote output style, Harvard (AGPS/Australian version), which someone has already prepared for Endnote as an .ens file. Is there any way of using this file to speed up the process of setting up a similar style/format in Bookends? The existing Bookends Harvard style is quite di...
