Re: Extracting quotes and annotations
Apologies: I just saw a post about number 2 (putting in citations).

Extracting quotes and annotations
First of all, Bookends is FANTASTIC. I've used it for nearly ten years and I'm still discovering great features -- most recently the ability to extract highlights (quotes) and annotations with a keystroke. If I could dream -- or maybe there's a way to do this already -- it would be great if 1. there...

Re: PDF annotation changes -- comments
Sounds great. I'm assuming that it only applies to PDFs that have been run through OCR. Is that correct?

Editing citations in MS Word
This should be obvious but I can't find anything on how to do it. I have scanned my document and the temporary citations have been replaced with (author, date, page) per Harvard style. I want to do further edits, which means tweaking the citations (removing author, for instance) but want to convert ...

Bookends for iOS on iPad Pro
I'm thinking about buying one of the new iPad pros and setting it up as my primary work machine (for teaching and academic writing). I will use Scrivener for iOS, but wonder if the Bookends version for iOS is sufficiently powerful. What am I giving up from the MacOS version? [Posted this originally ...
Thanks!
I just downloaded BE 13 and wanted to thank Jon and his team for all the hard work! 64-bit here I come!!

Smart Groups
Sorry if this is covered in the manual (I can't find it). I want to create a smart group of all entries that contain the words "South Africa" in EITHER the title OR keywords. Is this possible? If so, how do I do it? I can only see how to create a group that meets both criteria, but not eit...

Is the user guide or a manual available for BE for iOS in PDF?

Cloud Sync error
I'm trying to sync BE4iOS to the cloud and am getting the following error message: Your request contains 474 items which is more than the maximum number of items in a single request (400). What am I doing wrong? I have the latest iOS (with both upgrades) and Mac versions. Dr. Stephen W. Martin Assoc...

Organization as author
This should be an easy one, though I haven't been able to find anything in the manual (largely because I'm unsure where to look). I'm writing an article that has several bibliographical sources authored by the “Anglican Church of Canada” (and other organizations). That's how I enter the name in BE. ...

Re: Reference Types
Thanks, Jon. That works really well. Is there any way of customizing the data entry template for the new type, e.g. to take out unnecessary fields?

Reference Types
Hello. I'm wanting to create a new reference type for a lecture or address, but can't find any information or advice in the forums. When I search (entering either "reference type" or reference+type) I get a response that says the terms "reference" and "type" are too gen...

reference types
Dear Bookenders, I'm wondering whether there exists, somewhere out there, a collection of Reference Types to supplement those that ship with BE (speech, review, press release, blog post, etc). I realize I could make my own, but am looking to save time (who isn't?) with some already made types. I've ...

Re: Bookends 12.5 Feedback
I agree on the thumbs up for the new icon. It doesn't speak to me of note-taking but of careful reading and marking text, which is precisely what a pdf-reference manager is. Visually the appearance is much more pleasing, and I look forward to checking more the "under-the-hood" features. Ni...
