Rescan PDF attachments for DOI?
Hi. For some reason, a number of PDFs I recently imported either didn't find the DOI or didn't scan for it. Regardless, the PDFs are definitely in the PDF. If it possible to ask Bookends to scan an attachment again to find the DOI so I can then autofill based on it? I can copy from the PDF, but give...

Is it possible to customize how Bibtex keys are generated?
From the user manual, it looks like "AuthorYear" is the only option. That's a problem for me because my workgroup has a different standard for generating keys so we are consistent (Author-Year-FirstWordOfTitle-IncrementingDigit). If not possible, I hope the developer will consider it for t...

Re: Subfolders in the attachments folder?
Thank you so much for the rapid answer. For anyone who finds this question in the future, I worked out a quick Applescript which one can run periodically to clean things up. I suspect there are more lines than necessary. I often find Applescript works better when multiple steps are broken up. tell a...

Subfolders in the attachments folder?
I apologize if my search of the forum missed an answer to this. I have about 6500 attachments for my library and the Finder isn't in love with having them all in a single folder. Is it possible (or could it be made possible) to automatically create subfolders within the default attachment folders? F...

Moving from Bibdesk
Using the demo of Bookends and loving it! My challenge is that I currently have about 7000 citations in BibDesk, with about 4000 linked PDFs. From the User Manual and the posts I've found here, it isn't clear to me how hard this will be. Once I've made the move, I don't care about keeping things in ...

Re: Chance of AppleScript support expanding (or alternatives
That's awesome to hear. Your responsiveness is one of the main reasons I went ahead and purchased Bookends today. My original message was a bit clumsy in describing "modifying" field values. In fact, what I've normally done is set theKeyWords to field "Keywords" of record thisRec...

Chance of AppleScript support expanding (or alternatives)
Enjoying Bookends very much so far. One (the only??) advantage EndNote offers is really good AppleScriptability. I know that BE can respond to AppleScript requests to provide information. Several scripts I use regularly, however, need a bit more scriptability. In particular, it would be great to be ...

Re: No success with Get PDF
I should have mentioned that the unsuccessful records have DOIs entered, full citation information, and retrieve just fine in EndNote.

No success with Get PDF
Giving Bookends a try. I've imported a lot of different references and then tried "Get PDF from Internet (if available)" to download the PDFs. Unfortunately, I've had no luck. I've copied from my EndNote preferences the OpenURL server address (open OpenURL, the EZProxy address, and the Pro...
