Re: Option to see if 'Hits' list is not empty and clear it from the sidebar

Of course. It's just that from time to time I have to move to another task/activity and don't necessary have the time to create a temporary group in case I loose my Hits. Or I just forget about them and mix everything up when I'm back on BE and want to export different types of refs. Anyway. I'd lov...

Re: Option to see if 'Hits' list is not empty and clear it from the sidebar

That's right I'm already considering doing that. However sometimes I start something with the hits that I might forget about after a day or two, so I take the risk of loosing my work if I just do as you say blindly. Or I still need to go see by myself if my Hits are empty or not. Anyhow it's not ide...

Re: Option to see if 'Hits' list is not empty and clear it from the sidebar

Thank you Jon. I'm always amazed by how few I know BE... However in this case I still think that knowing wether or not Hits are empty from the sidebar would be very helpful. Would you guys consider adding a badge (the more I think about it the more I believe that would be the best solution) or somet...

Option to see if 'Hits' list is not empty and clear it from the sidebar

Hi all, I am too often confused by my 'Hits' because I don't necessarily know wether or not it is empty before I create a new group or when I'm launching a new database search. I think knowing wether or not the list is empty by just glancing at the sidebar would be great. Do you think this function ...

Re: Bookends 13.0.4 installer doesn't seem to do anything

Rebooting didn't do anything but 'sudo killall Finder' fixed the problem. I should have thought about it. Thanks!

Re: Bookends 13.0.4 installer doesn't seem to do anything

Maybe I was not clear, sorry. When I click on the .dmg nothing happens besides file checking. No Bookends opening, nothing in the Finder, nothing.

Bookends 13.0.4 installer doesn't seem to do anything

Hello, I downloaded the Bookends 13.0.4 installer this morning to fix the syncing issue. Clicking on the .dmg doesn't do anything besides verifying the volume. I re-downloaded the installer 3 times: same issue. I tried with BE open, BE closed, restarting my system: nothing seems to work. Any idea of...

Re: Buttons for sorting in single column view?

Thanks Jon. Note that toggling between ascending and descending sorts could still be achieved by clicking once more on the already-selected sorting strategy in the pop-up menu (ie. the one that would show the ticking mark, if we take the sidebar's behavior as a reference). I think I've seen that in ...

Re: Buttons for sorting in single column view?

Thank you. I still find single column views very useful, and mustn't be the only one, otherwise it wouldn't be available in BE. It could be easily improved though, for example by making the sorting function simpler and more straightforward. Other ways to improve it (IMO) is by moving the star rating...

Buttons for sorting in single column view?

Hi, I think sorting in single column view is really far from ideal. I do it all the time and would greatly appreciate to have a dedicated button in the toolbar for it, or at least that clicking on the "Sorted by ..." at the top of the list would open a pop-up menu where we could choose the...

Re: Is there a way to mark a paper as "read"?

+1 for a "mark as read" feature that would be visible in the main reference list. In my opinion it is very useful and while you can replicate it with smart groups / labels, it is very cumbersome, not intuitive and not elegant.

Re: What should a double click do?

It would be great if it allowed to open a new edit tab directly in the attachments view. That would copy the (very relevant) behavior of most other reference managers (in which double clicking opens the PDF in a new tab)

Dragging a PDF to Groups' folders

Hi, dragging PDFs directly on a reference opens a popup window which by default proposes to add it to the reference, which makes sense. However dragging it to a folder still selects for the current (highlighted) reference, even though it is quite clear that if we drag it to a folder it means that we...

Yes I guess I have special needs, like everybody else. I am probably too biased by them. I get your point though.
Thanks for taking the time to answer!
