opening references

Hi, I've just upgraded (from Bookends 12 to 14) and find that double-clicking on a reference no longer opens the reference standalone window - I have to hit return to do that now (while double-clicking opens the attachment in the lower pane). Is there any way to go back to the double-click? I can't ...

Nil object error

I have suddenly started getting a "nil object error" response when I try to open an attachment in Bookends entries. I thought there was a problem with the attachment itself, so I removed it and tried again, but when I selected the file to attach, same error. Any suggestions? I can't open a...

I guess in your example I'd be trying to get "Fulan ibn Fulan" to appear in the bibliography as "Fulan ibn Fulan". I (and a lot of others including some of the people I cite) object to being forced into a Western way of doing things and prefer to be cited by their own names and n...

Author name order

Is there any way to force Bookends to keep the author's name as typed when producing bibliographies? I can't see anything in the user guide. I have a lot of mixed bibliographies and I type (for example) Christian names as "Smith, John" and Muslim names as "Abdallah Saleh". But wh...

I don't think I can, I'm still using OSX 10.3.9. Don't I need 10.4 to use Bookends 10?

Yes, I know command-D is delete. :(

I'm using 9.2.2 and there's no warning in the Catalogue list view. Just tried with a dummy reference to make sure.

Keyboard shortcuts and delete

Has anyone else has minor disasters using a keyboard shortcut to duplicate a file? Yes, that's right, CMD-D means delete. And there isn't even a warning. I lost a file with several thousand words of notes on a book while I was trying to duplicate it. Powers that be, can we have either a) a little wa...
