Hi Fenton, But you're not telling it like "it" is, you're telling us about your experience in chemistry. Elsevier (which is a behemoth) owns many of the major biomedical research journals. I'm not familiar with any that group references in bibliographies (you possibly can point to some, bu...

That's not correct. Nature has never combined references in a bibliography (at least since I have followed it, which is for some time). And Science dropped it a few years ago (because it made it difficult to have embedded HTML links to the on-line references, I was told).

Um, I think I see. But there is a misunderstanding, I think. Bookends will not create a short title for you. If you specify a short title in the format, as in a. s. and there is no short title, Bookends will substitute the full title. That is a feature, not a bug, BTW. If you want that non-title inf...

I'm afraid you've lost me. The short title field is for -- the short title. If a format does not call for the short title, that field will be ignored and you can use it for anything you want. So, it sounds as if the format you are using wants the short title in that field. You'll have to explain in ...

You misunderstand. Trust me, it would be very difficult. But it is not a big deal. And certainly not in Word -- once you've moved the bibliography where you want it, Bookends will leave it there from then on when you rescan.

Yes. I thought you were referring to formats. You can set quote marks (in formats that require quotes around title), and Bookends will output what you entered (straight or smart quote marks), so you control that.

Remove Bookends Preferences and a new copy will be made, with all defaults in place.

It would be entirely on Mellel's end -- Bookends wouldn't know anything about it. Bookends hands off the info to Mellel, and Mellel disposes of it as it likes.

Why is it sad? It works the way it is designed to, with user control. I just don't understand.

Near future? No. There are a lot more important things to do. But maybe at some point.

I think what he was getting at was using smart quotes in a bibliography. Bookends will do that, if you enter them in the format where you want them. It will not substitute them automatically, you have to enter them (Option-[ and Shift-Option-[).

Right. The drawer is fixed. If you want user-definable, use View Formatted.

Re: Appearance of List view: Feature requests

4. The concise-tab of the info pane is not user definable at all. That's very sad. I would love to format the output here fully as it is able for print output. Hi Reiner, This is the only one I'll address now. This feature is available, and always has been -- use the View Formatted pane. Create one...

Hi tom, I looked into haveing the attachment automatically added to the email message. Unfortunately, I couldn't get my e-mail client to recognize that there was an attachment. I suppose I could add "reveal in Finder" to the contextual menu, though (assuming you have Indicate Attachments s...
