I too think this would be a good implementation for the future. In SBL style any book with more than three authors receives 'et al' in the footnote, but all of the authors are written out in the Bib. SBL Format for BE

My guide for SBL format is still available. I have made some slight modifications to the package but nothing major.

some more formatting requests/suggestions

I am very impressed with the increased formatting abilities with BE9, I have found that I am able to condense several different types of reference works into one (books in series, multivolume books, commentaries, can all now go into 'Book'), kudos to you Jon. As I have been reformatting my SBL forma...

drop-down reference menu in the Bib window

Jon, I was wondering if it is possible to add/remove reference types from the dropdown reference menu in the Bib window (like in the format window type menu. This little customization is handy for those of us who use a limited number of ref types.

No. Bookends will create super and subscripts when it makes bibliographies with styled text, but it can't display them in its own editfields. Jon Sonny Software I don't like this either. It is not a terribly big deal, but in Biblical studies scrolls, papyri, ostraca, and manuscripts are assigned nu...

sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but the word 'style' is applied to so many different things. When you say 'no styled text' in the new fields in the drawer, what exactly do you mean?

Will I be able to put on my resume that I started a forum thread that has been read more than the raison d'etre thread? :D

Nope, I mean you've actually peeked into my interest :)

Well I'm excited about further integration anyway :)

multiple citations

I know BE will separate multiple citations with a semi-colon, but does this work in Mellel, since the citations are not all in the same set of delimiters? My citations are side by side in my document, but no semi-colon is being placed? On a related note, when I add the cited pages to a Mellel citati...

Fair enough, all good things must come to an end :) Just for the record, the previous poster doesn't speak for the majority. If Jon wasn't taking us seriously he wouldn't be as open about further development and he wouldn't have been as active in this thread as he was. For those who think that 12 ad...

I'll cast my vote for the drawer. :) I'm not sure about others, but I like being able to see all the info at once.

For those who prefer a large Notes field instead of Abstract in the reference window, you know you can just reassign them in Preference, right? Then all you need to do is make a minor tweak to the import filters you use, swapping the import tags between Notes and Abstract. As for new fields, I don'...

I understand- I like the Notes beside the abstract - but no biggie I guess. May I ask how many fields you are planning to add to the Bib window then (in the pics I've made, moving the notes field made extra fields a little easier)? Overall, I like the idea of a bigger Notes field, so if my idea does...

I meant that the same window space could be used for abstract and notes with tabs to toggle between them, although Im not sure how difficult this would be in programming terms. It would give those who use notes more space and retain much of the current layout. I too have no idea what it means in te...
