Re: Mellel Auto-titles Display

Sure, opening the attachment is of course possible, it would just be nice to be able to use the preview pane for a quick skimming through your notes. I use Mellel for taking notes because its auto-titles feature allow one to quickly navigate through a long set of notes with the help of the Outline p...

Mellel Auto-titles Display

A minor issue, but perhaps smth that can be solved: auto-titles in attached Mellel documents are not displayed in the BE preview pane.

Re: Deleting references in static groups

I see. There is one problem, though, with using the marked reference feature. When you are in a specific group, there is no way to unmark any other references that for some reason are still marked without leaving the group, and thus losing track of what you were doing. Would it be possible to have a...

Deleting references in static groups

Is it somehow possible to permanently delete a reference from the database straight from a static group? Default behaviour is for the delete command to just remove the reference from the group in such cases, but it would greatly help me sorting references if I were able to directly delete them from ...

Re: LOC-import and Unicode

OK. I will write to you in a minute about this filter. As for importing from clipboard, I just provided the permalink to identify the publication concerned. Clicking the option "View LC holdings for this title in the: LC Online Catalog" at the top of this record, the next window provides t...

LOC-import and Unicode

This is a problem which has been vexing me for a while: how to properly import references with Unicode characters from the LIbrary of Congress catalogue. Using the BE online search tool, the Unicode characters are not properly rendered, which I vaguely recall is due to the fact that the Z39 protocol...

Outputting bibliography to disk crashes BE

After upgrade to 10.2 all attempts to output a bibliography to disk crash BE. The issue occurs with different databases and with different formats, both custom and standard. Outputting to bibliography window works fine. Could this be a bug?

Don't have another Mac at hand, but I think I have located the root of the problem: If in BE preferences one selects the default rendition of the hyperlink as "Title" everything works as should, but if one selects e.g. APA citation, the situation is as I describe: the author and date of th...

Sorry, Jon, typo - in the list above I of course meant not "select reference 2" instead of "select reference to" in step nr. 5

As to point 2 - all clear. Point 1: - Select reference 1 in list view and press Comm+Shift+L - Switch to e.g. Text Edit - Paste the hyperlink - Switch back to BE - Select reference to, still in list view - Paste the result in Text Edit - you will see it is rendered as the Title of reference 1, but w...

But how do you force BE to use the custom filter instead of the standard LOC filter? The procedure you describe is the solution that had come to my mind in the very first place, but I found BE ignored the custom filter and used the standard filter instead. It is quite a number of BE versions ago, ho...

customized LOC import filter

As I prefer to keep full control over the keywords I use in my DB I modify the LOC import filter not to import keywords when importing references through an online search and when updating Bookends I used to manually save a copy of the modified format and replaced the 'newer' import filter with it a...

I am experiencing exactly the same problem - wrong reference when in list view, right reference when in reference view. Now, this is exactly what seems to happen: the first reference you copy a hyperlink to from list view works fine, but once you switch to another reference, the link to the first re...
