Re: Highlights do not retain opacity
Thank you for looking into this. In the meantime, I took your advice and used a softer color as a workaround.

Highlights do not retain opacity
I find the colors of the highlights too strong and fatiguing, so it is my use to decrease their opacity from the internal Bookends reader settings. The problem (as you can see from the screens below) is that once I close Bookends the opacity is reset to the initial value of 100%.. https://i.postimg....

Colon before the page number: am I missing something?
I am very happy with Bookends so much that I purchased the combo with Mellel, which I am equally happy with. However, there is something I am missing in setting up custom formats, and its in-text citations. I explain the specific case: I've created a new format, which involves in-text citation with ...

Re: Advice on how to handle epubs?
Calibre is a really useful tool, a real Swiss Army knife, but unfortunately I find its readers really bulky and slow. I'd prefer something snappier (I'm testing both Yomu and FB Reader); the ideal would be a nice internal implementation of Bookends, but I understand the difficulties! Calibre is a go...

Advice on how to handle epubs?
I hate epubs, but doing research in contemporary humanities most of the books come out in this format. I completely understand why Bookends is reluctant to deal with them (both technically and "philosophically"), so I'm looking for advice and hopefully a solution, given the volume the libr...

Re: How to prevent Google Books filter from automatically importing URL and Image URL (user8)?
To prevent the URL from being imported, edit the Google Books.fltr (delete the "Image URL:" tab). If you want to prevent the cover art from being downloaded, go to Google Bookends in the Online Search window (the direct search, not in Bookends Browser) and uncheck the option Display Image...

Re: Set author names as single word
But, if you want this kind of setup only for some references, you can setup a new category/type for them. YOU can develop a new "type", for example ibook category (to mean books authored by institutions); and then, set up the order authors like the above image for the ibook category only....

Set author names as single word
I'm sure this has already been discussed but I couldn't find anything through the search function. The question is straightforward: how can I manage the author/editor field so that it is recognized as a single, unique word, and not organized into surname-name format? This is particularly necessary i...

Re: PDF annotation changes -- comments
I don't know anything about Raycast, can you whitelist applications it is disabled for? In any case, since the selecting persists even after the popover closes, you can use Command-C to copy. As for changing the highlight colors, it's easy. Click the caret next to the marker icon and right-click on...

Re: PDF annotation changes -- comments
I can also confirm the problem with the focus of the selected text, too short. In my case the problem was not with PopClip but with Raycast (essential application for my workflow): I don't know if there is a workaround in this regard. In the latest version (14.0.6), when I highlight text in an attac...

Import from Zotero: how about collections?
I'm switching from Zotero to Bookends and I'm very happy with the solid import mechanism; only one thing seems to be missing, is it possible to import collections/folders as well so that I have the library already organized again? Thanks.
