Wow Jon, really nice implementation (and thanks to DrJJWMac for the naming idea, simple and neat!)
EDIT: you are also doing amazing things with links in the recent releases, great stuff!

Re: Citation key options for multiple authors
If the default citekey is changed I wouldn't be happy. I do understand some users have lots of papers with the same first author and year, and it makes it hard while writing to disentangle the references, so the underlying reason to want a better identifier is sound. But I don't have such a problem,...

Problems due to malformed abstract with LaTeX export
Hi, importing this DOI: 10.1016/j.cub.2022.07.050 there are some malformed ranges in the abstract (markdown superscripts): ...magnetic stimulation (TMS).^4^^,^^5^ We found that enhancing the ... Re: Bookends 14.1.7: Citekeys
All my citekeys are mostly ascii anyway so this doesn't affect me personally, but I can understand that using non-ascii characters may be useful. BUT users should also be aware that different tools all offer different limitations and the most compatible route is ascii... See this post for a great de...

Re: [Feature Request] Paper Retraction Checker?
Trying to get Zotero setup to test the sync, one of the papers in my database was retracted and Zotero made me very clearly aware of it!

Re: Is there any interest in syncing Bookends for iOS with Zotero?
Serge, is the idea to be able to sync a Bookends library with the "whole" of Zotero's "My Library" or can we sync to a folder within "My Library"?

Re: Is there any interest in syncing Bookends for iOS with Zotero?
Thank you! By work locally I mean you are using what Zotero calls “My Library”, which is stored locally but also synced via Zotero Cloud. But Zotero also has what they call “Group Libraries”, which are shared by others in a group. At this time we're not working with these shared group libraries, on...

Re: Best workflow for "merging" two references
Yes, :D that is a perfect solution. I'm not quite sure why I missed "Compare References" (i've used if before but it slipped my memory and my caffeine-deprived scan of the Refs menu)... A merge function would simply combine this UI with a feature that the "selected" ref would be ...

Best workflow for "merging" two references
Perhaps I've forgotten or my morning coffee hasn't kicked in, but if I have this situation where I have an existing reference and a blank ref from a downloaded PDF that couldn't autocomplete that I know are the same; what is the "easiest" way to "merge" them to 1 reference? Scree...

Re: Is there any interest in syncing Bookends for iOS with Zotero?
First off, I hope you are safe and well Serge! Thank you so much for your work on this feature. What exactly do you mean when you say "work locally"; do you mean a Zotero database on a desktop macOS system whose location could be shared via iCloud or Dropbox?

Re: Jumping from Word to Bookends
I didn't really test this, and I'm sure someone who is better at Applescript can improve this, but this will take selected text (a uniqueID) in any app, copy it to the clipboard, then try to find the uniqueID ref, try to open the first attachment and if no attachment, open the ref in bookends: #!/us...
