Fill in PubMed central ID not working for me
when I select a reference, right-click, and select PubMed . . . Fill in PubMed Central ID, I get "Get PMCIDs" progress window, one of my two cores gets pegged at 100% by Bookends, Bookends responds sluggishly, and I have to force quit it. If I try to click "stop" in that progress...

Failed link in Bookends browser
Loving 11.2, but one problem. When I use the built in browser (accessed via the "Web" button between the Formatted and PDF buttons) I see the reference in pubmed and a link my institution's InfoLink. I then click on the InfoLink icon and get a new InfoLink page with the appropriate links t...

BE not replacing temp citations in Pages table . .
I have a Pages 09 document with a table which contains text and a reference. I then scan the doc. All of the references in the body of the text are included in the bibliography just fine, and the temp citation is resolved. However, the temporary citation in the table is left alone. I did a test and ...

freezing during import with PDF download
I have noticed (running 11.0.9) that I am occasionally having to type command-. to stop the PDF download during an import from the Search Pubmed function. I have also had a few crashes while doing this. It seems to be particular references. Any thoughts on how to diagnose what is going on? thanks ja...

Progress feedback during a scan in Word
Jon, Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but I could not find it. The issue I have noticed is that during a scan of a document from Word 2008, focus switches to Bookends and to Word, but I cannot tell when the scan is finished. On a few occasions, I have thought things were finished and accide...

Re: Local PDFs
For what it is worth, I would like the option to attach local PDFs to references without copying them.
I am not a programmer, but why could Bookends not search something with Spotlight if it did not 'file' it?
Thanks
Jason

How do I name imported PDFs with first author only?
I currently use the web search and PDF import feature, and I was wondering if there is a way to customize the name given to the PDF file in a particular way; specifically, I would like to do [first author]- [title]. That is the convention I have used for years and I have about 2500 PDFs named that w...

cannot drag Pubmed links to Bookends (still)
I updated with the silent 9.2.2 update and still get nothing when I drag the link from a PubMed citation to BE. I get the brief green plus sign but then no confirmation of import and no import. Also, when I try to import from the clipboard in the Pubmed format, I get blank references . . .. This use...

Problem w/ display of refs in bottom window of List View
All of a sudden, the formatted references at the bottom of the List View have formatting notes included. For example: \textbf{Pavelkova, M. and Kubala, L.} (2004). Luminol-, isoluminol- and lucigenin-enhanced chemiluminescence of rat blood phagocytes stimulated with different activators. \emph{Lumin...
