For what it is worth, I would like the option to attach local PDFs to references without copying them.

I am not a programmer, but why could Bookends not search something with Spotlight if it did not 'file' it?

Still no go on dragging from links in Safari 2.0.4. This is now true on three macs (an intel iMac, Mac pro, and macbook).
