Re: Feature request: Multiple word processor choice

Okay, I finally figured out that File / Link to ... simply lists all open applications. Unlike under "Preferences," you can't link to an application that is not already running. And you can link to all sorts of applications that can't won't know what to do with Bookends input. Opal, for ex...

Re: Feature request: Multiple word processor choice

Bookends lets you link to apps that aren't word processors if you want (e.g. Scrivener) How? Scrivener isn't in the list. Neither is anything else I use to write with—Pages, Opal, NeoOffice, for example—except Mellel, and I'm already linked to that. Thanks again for providing this functionality (if...

Re: Feature request: Multiple word processor choice

File / Link to... lists about twenty items on my computer, only one of which is a word processor (Mellel). Not very helpful.

Do not clear list between searches

In the Online Search, how do we get the "Do not clear list between searches" setting to stick? I keep checking the box, but every time I re-open the window, it's unchecked.

Oh, and the capitalization box can't handle things like "11th". Keeps wanting to capitalize the "T".

Way back when I used to Nota Bene's Ibid. As I recall, they had some sort of non-printing code that you could embed in the field to indicate it should be capitalized by a specified foreign-language rule. Meanwhile, I created a "Foreign Language Journal" type. Then I realized I had to creat...

Feature request: Multiple word processor choice

Since I have taken to using multiple word processors (Mellel to write, Scrivener to research, Pages for graphics-heavy things, NeoOffice for sharing with WinDozers), I would like to see an easier way to quickly switch back and forth between them than is currently implemented in the Preferences—per...

Consider it a feature request. RDF is meant for the exchange and use of machine-readable metadata, and Dublin Core only has fifteen fields. Support for it will only make Bookends more attractive in the future.

I've been dabbling with the Chicago format for a while, and what I've got isn't perfect, but it seems to work for most things (I haven't, for example, had an "personal communications," so you might be on your own for that). Use at your own risk: http://www.valdosta.edu/~whshepherd/bookends...

Dublin Code and RDF

Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't find anyway to extract Dublin Core metadata and put it into a Bookends reference. I'm currently finding a lot of references in web journals that don't have any bibliography export features, but are marked with Dublin Core. An import filter would certainly be ...

I agree. We need a more robust way to deal with capitalization of proper nouns in titles. Take this title in Chicago 15 B: Eskander, Saad. 2007. Diary of saad eskander, director of the iraq national library and archive. http://www.bl.uk/iraqdiary.html (accessed February 12, 2008). I can add "Sa...

Why would you expect Command-Option to work? That just extends the selection lists.
It's the standard way to drop and drag an alias or hyperlink in the Finder and other programs.
