Re: Close all tabs?

Thanks Jon, that's great - though I still think a menu item would be much more discoverable for the user.

Close all tabs?

Tabs in Bookends work wonderfully. I wonder, though, whether it'd be possible to add a 'close all tabs' item to the right-click menu that lists all tabs. I often return to the interface with a lot of tabs open from a previous note-taking session and have to close them all. Very small thing, but if i...

Re: The era of "cloud reference managers"?

taja: this applescript will give you the Quick Add functionality, just trigger it with LaunchBar: https://github.com/iandol/bookends-tools/blob/master/source/quickAdd.applescript Creating a browser extension is a non-trivial endeavour and I am not yet convinced about what it would really be able to...

Re: The era of "cloud reference managers"?

One reason is that while that workflow is great, not many Bookends users will be using Alfred, or even be particularly well-versed in Applescript. I switched to Alfred + Powerpack to use your excellent workflow, but then back to Launchbar when Jon added the floating window (of course Launchbar makes...

Re: The era of "cloud reference managers"?

+1 for a browser extension. There is the bookmarklet, which I occasionally find handy. And I recognise that the online search window has lots of advantages. But an extension that allowed users to use their own browsers for discovery + download with some integration with Bookends without switching be...

Yes it's a wonderful feature. Huge thanks to Jon - and to @Iandol for the inspiration!

Re: Very useful script from our @Iandol

I suppose an equivalent would be something like the interface provided by Magic Citation in Papers or the Zotero cite-while-you-write plugin, so the same justifications apply as for those. The benefits can in some respects be reduced to saving a click or two, but just as important i think are the be...

Re: Very useful script from our @Iandol

Yes, it's wonderful; I bought Alfred's Powerpack just so I could use it. Jon: I wonder whether there would ever be any scope for integrating something like this into Bookends? It's really transformative, but I imagine that the additional cost of the Powerpack means not many Bookends users will end u...

Re: Tabs in Bookends Online Search (and a few other suggestions)

Thanks Jon, sounds good.

Regarding the toolbar icon: I actually meant an icon in the toolbar of the Online Search window to switch to the 'browser', and away from one of the specific search engines. I feel like that would save a lot of clicking into the dropdown.

Tabs in Bookends Online Search (and a few other suggestions)

Despite the advantages of using the Bookends online search to find references, I often find myself switching back to my default browser as it's easier to use for a number of reasons. I often end up regretting it and using the Bookends bookmarklet to return. I wonder if the user experience for the On...

Re: iOS feature request(s)

I agree that a recently-viwed smart list or menu in BoT would be very helpful.

thanks! I'll ask on the LB forums. I think Launchbar can indeed return a list of items for further selection.

These look awesome. Can anyone with any coding skills adapt them into Launchbar actions?
