Re: Bookends iOS URL endpoints

Not at this moment, but after a few already-planned features we will look at what can be done. Your suggestion for the Shortcut command looks interesting.

Re: Attachements in subfolders and sync

Yes, I just checked that after organizing attachments on your Mac Bookends for iOS will be able to correctly find them.

As for the file tags, as far as I know, there is no API to deal with them on iOS, so we can’t read them in code. But you still can set them the way you showed here.

Re: Attachements in subfolders and sync

Wi-Fi sync uses simpler approach of single folder for storing all files, just individual files are transferred.
For Bookends Cloud Sync the folder structure is synced automatically by iCloud Drive. There is still a limitation on adding files to subfolders on iOS, as Bookends will always put to the ...

Re: Feature Requests: A few ideas on utility

We will try to implement (1) in one of the nearest updates.
(3) we will look what's possible a bit later after other features completed.

As for (2) it was designed this way in Bookends for iOS to automatically attach the downloaded PDF to the current reference. BOT doesn't have the dedicated web ...

Re: Bug: Stuttering Affect to creating Default Subfolder

Yes, thanks for showing this workaround! I hope it will be fixed by Apple in future iPadOS releases. For example, it works as it should on iOS, but not, as you described, on iPadOS.

Re: iPad attachments don't load/show

You might use Files.app to check the attachments folder in Bookends folder with icon in iCloud Drive. Another user found that this action forced iOS to sync files.

Re: Faster availability of attached PDFs

Hi Eric,

I would like to check this issue once again. As I remember we couldn't speed up attachments downloading, as we can only send a request to iOS to download the file. But I would like to test if we can ask for this action more often, and if this improves anything. If you would like to help ...

Re: iPad: App Font Size Too Big

I just checked a few more apps, and the navigation title wasn't updated there also. Maybe this will be solved automatically when we switch to SwiftUI framework in future versions of Bookends for iOS.

Re: Open PDF in another app

I just checked with Highlights app and it opens Bookends shared attachments 'in place', so after a few added annotations they are visible in Bookends without any extra steps of sharing attachments back via the Share icon.

Re: Is there any interest in syncing Bookends for iOS with Zotero?

(1) A library is created and synced in Zotero, (2) it is downloaded to Bookends for iOS as a new library, (3) edits in this library in either Bookends for iOS or Zotero are synced via the Zotero servers.

Re: Is there any interest in syncing Bookends for iOS with Zotero?

Thank you! By work locally I mean you are using what Zotero calls “My Library”, which is stored locally but also synced via Zotero Cloud. But Zotero also has what they call “Group Libraries”, which are shared by others in a group. At this time we're not working with these shared group libraries ...

Re: Is there any interest in syncing Bookends for iOS with Zotero?

Here is an update on this possible feature. We are working on the ability of Bookends iOS to work with a Zotero library that is stored locally. For Bookends it would be just like Bookends library (when switching between libraries). The main reason for having Bookends work with local Zotero (as ...
