Hi, yes I do. You'll find it works the way you want in the next Bookends update (regular cap for first letter, small caps (-4 points) in the remainder).

Hi, Never tried this, but I think should be able to have Bookends generate a HTML-bibliography which has something like this: <a href="http://www.mydomain.com"><img src="myfolder/subfolder/images/theimage.jpg"></a> See the User Guide on creating formats (and note the use of the &...

You know that Command-M selects (marks) the checkbox too, right? You may find this more convenient than clicking twice (once to select, once to mark).

Hi niklas, I see why you might want this, but I don't think it is standard behavior. It's also not used for things like View Formatted -- the first selection is what is shown. I think using the Hits checkbox is a simple solution that should do just what you want with little overhead (just click the ...

Re: multiple citations

I know BE will separate multiple citations with a semi-colon, but does this work in Mellel, since the citations are not all in the same set of delimiters? My citations are side by side in my document, but no semi-colon is being placed? Hi Danny, Yes, this works in Mellel. The citations must be cont...

Bookends import filters let you specify how the names are output by the provider, and it will automatically reverse them for you to surname first if you tell it to. As for correcting names already entered, there is a Global Change -> Standardize Names option. Please refer to the User Guide for more ...

Hi,

Have you tried to rebuild or repair the database (File -> Database Maintenance). This is the first think I would suggest for general weirdness.

If that doesn't help, contact tech support directly (support@sonnysoftware.com).

does Bookends simply use the • character to identify linked files or is there something else embedded in each record? In other words, if I were to export and then reimport, would the linked file information be lost in the process? Hi, Yes, that's all that Bookends uses to identify an attachment. ...

You don't provide much detail.

The hits are evanescent -- the are usually replaced whenever you do a Find, for example. If you want a particular set of hits retained, turn them into a group.

My initial suggestion is to either ignore PubMed keywords when you import (they are pretty useless for personal databases), or have Bookends import them to User1 (or some other user-defined field).

Please refer to the User Guide for info about selecting, sorting, and printing. The db is NOT maintained in a sorted order. You can force a sorted order if you want (Refs -> Sort Database). Of you can select all reference and then sort the Hits List (Hits -> Sort Hits). Then you can print anything y...
