Re: Is there any interest in syncing Bookends for iOS with Zotero?
for me it's not clear why sync between bookends and zotero would be desirable. how/for what could this be used? or do you think this would attract more users due to a better integration with the zotero community?

Re: Is there any interest in syncing Bookends for iOS with Zotero?
would sync between bookends and zotero also mean, that we could do all the referencing in word with bookends, but then use zotero for CSL-formatting of the references (as an additional option to bookends referencing formats)?

Lock temporary citations in a word document
Is there any possibility to "lock" temporary bookends citations in a Word document by editing through other authors? E.g. that any text including curly braces is locked from editing... I often have the problem that I send a draft of a manuscript to collegues, who then edit it, and in the e...

Bookends search window in Word
Hi may I ask if I open the smart search window for bookends in Word and search for an author, all papers that contain the authornames are shown. Is there also the possibility for a more "customized" search, e.g. using a prefix in the search field so that the search looks for the search ter...

Drag and drop PDF out of Bookends
Hi
what is the fastest way to drag-and-drop a pdf (of a bookends item) to the desktop? I have tried it in the inspector and also from the item itself, but didn’t achieve it. Do I need to use the „export attachment“ or is there a faster way to do it?
Thanks

Re: Jumping from Word to Bookends
thank you, iandol! bookends unique ID would be absolutely fine! I would like to select the unique ID in my word manuscript, press a shortcut, and then the according pdf in bookends should open directly - and if there is no associated pdf, the item should be shown in bookends (so that I can read the ...

Re: Jumping from Word to Bookends
Thanks. Indeed, it's not a big thing. Regarding the Word shortcut: do you know, if/how it's possible to access the "find in bookends" feature with a shortcut in Word? As it's not in the menu bit in the menu-bar I am not sure, how this can be done. Do you Jon, or anyone else, have an idea h...

Jumping from Word to Bookends
If I select a text in a Word document (e.g. a PMID or DOI), I have the possibility to go to the Words-Smartbar Bookends Menu and select "Find in Bookends", then a search window appears, I confirm and then the according reference is shown in Bookends. Is there a possibility to speed this up...

Re: Assigning papers to more than one group (aliases)
Okay. No problem. I had an open question regarding your suggested workflow ("would this also work, if the yellow references are in different groups of the library?). Furthermore, as you have written "But what I think would work" and "I could have bookends select" it was not ...

Re: Assigning papers to more than one group (aliases)
would this also work, if the yellow references are in different groups of the library? so when I look the yellow ones up in the library, although only the first one is shown, I could move all of them to my new project group? could work for me, but maybe is not really intuitive for other users (?) fo...

Re: Assigning papers to more than one group (aliases)
interesting approach. but if I have 300 results in a search, with some of them already in the database, then I would have to select each yellow one manually? this would be really a lot of work. or selecting all (yellow and notyellow ones) and right-click "import sll to selected group without cr...

Re: Assigning papers to more than one group (aliases)
Would this really be an intrusion if user select files to import to a group in a bookends pubmed search, and bookends adds the already existing item to the selected group instead of creating a duplicate? I do not think that any user wants to create on purpose a duplicate by importing a reference tha...

Re: Assigning papers to more than one group (aliases)
Thanks, Jonathan,Indeed, I didn't know that it's possible to have a reference in more than one static group. Would it be possible when doing a pubmed search and dragging all selected search results into a group, that existing (yellow) references will not be added as duplicates but just assigned to t...
